wow, thats looks excellent. mr zuki should consider doing a modern re-issue like ducati did with those paul smark retro bikes.

Have you seen the strosphere concept .. its basically a Kat 8)

dazz, it might be the pic thats decieving but it looks like your forks are a bit twisted and your rear rim has a nice dent in it. I hope im wrong.

    should be a nice project

rear wheel is dented but has been that way for years without any dramas. Might send it to Silverwater to get fixed. Forks are straight though.

Jim, I am staying with the originals now. Going for the cheapest build I can for the best result.

Mundy, Spoke with Jonesy the other day, just need to make time to go and have a look at his stuff. He said you had been there the other day

    like your build Dazz,

I did something similar to my GSX.

pretty mild though, didn't go too crazy with mods as I like the look as is.

tried to clean out the mid frame area like the yoshi kat too.

    Cheers

    Ed

Ed, your bike was what got me thinking

got a 81 GSX750 tank the other day for free but a little rusty on the inside.

Any tricks for cleaning this up apart from phosphoric acid and a handfull of washers as aggitators and shake the bejesus out if it?

    total for build to date:

    Bike $350
    frame paint $9
    tank $free
chain and sprockets $free (swapped for old unwanted parts had lying around)
Head stem bearings $free (as above)
    Subframe steel $15

    Total to date $374.00 [8D]

ty a magnet round a peice of fishing line and just drop it in there put an inline filter in the fuel line fill it with petrol and ride it [worked for me my VFR tank was horrific inside]
or get one of those liner kit things i think they come with a cleaning /descaling solution
    btw well done on the scottish tight arse build mate :}

    Why thankyou old mate
I might call the bike the aquatic sphinctor as it is being built with a budget tighter than a turtles arsehole....(note to self..colour scheme for fuel tank)

The POR stuff is good. Also, here's a link to an electrolysis method which uses no chemicals:
