I actually do need one really specific coolant pipe, it's the one that sits above the alternator:

I think I accidentally threw it out while I was painting the engine.

One step closer to being rideable

Still needs a final sand and polish
I actually use these same on the wifes bike on the sides of the frame. I used a Rivnut in one of the frame holes and stuck the wire through and retrevied it with a coat hanger then put a plug on the end. Works ok i guess, dont have any problems with not seeing it either.

Shortened the mid pipe and cut a thread into the pillion peg to secure the muffler onto

Still on a roll mate. Good stuff.
Well that's what I get for buying cheap Chinese fittings, they blew off immediately under pressure.

Unsurprisingly the genuine Pro Flow was leak free

Hopefully some genuine fittings will sort it out.
Age old story mate!
I don't think I'd be using pushlok type fittings on an oil cooler.
Been a bit slack on updates but here comes a biggie, the bike is running, rideable and registered so I dusted off the good camera for some shots :D

As with any project it will never be truly finished but for now I'm content to just enjoy riding it until I work up the motivation to tear it down for paint :)
I reckon I'd just strip and clear coat the tank and call it done...
Looks nice mate,
Had a rare day of nice weather in winter so I actually got to go for a ride :)

Bike feels great aside from a vague knocking feeling somewhere in the front end, will have to have a dig around when the XJ900 is out of the workshop.
I did consider that but I want to learn how to do a decent paint job at home with 2k stuff, I recently found the MTN metallic series which I quite like the look of.
That looks great mate. Well done.
Found a brand new OEM CBR650 carbon fibre style fender for $40 so I set about finding a way to mount it as the CBR900 forks have no fender mounts (they use a clamp system with the standard fender).
Found a solution with a set of 54mm clamps intended to mount lights on a bull bar. Bolted vertical brackets to it and voila :D

I also added some shielding to the radiators

And made a quick and dirty bracket to mount the overflow flask on the left side of the bike. Also added a spare overflow cap from my R1 for the OEM look :P

Nice one mate.
Those clamps are a neat idea for the guard. Good job
Picked up a set of carbon fiber panels off eBay for a steal so I whipped off the subframe to weld on some brackets and make some fitment adjustments.

While I was in there I cleaned up my wiring layout and welded on some proper brackets so my components are no longer held on with hopes, dreams and zipties.

The fairings do a great job of hiding the wiring :)
