Out of interest
OUT OF INTEREST JUST WONDERING OUT THERE IN BIKE LAND WHAT THIS BIKE WOULD BE WORTH AND ALSO WOULD ANYONE OF THE MEMBERS BE LOOKING FOR A STREETFIGHTER.
IT IS AN GSX1100 WITH MODS. As follows
Attachment 4489
It has a tail swap for a R6 2008 model, where the tail is a one piece unit, so top & bottom are fibreglassed together, no bolts needed to hold it together, custom made rider seat to suit tank x tail set up + painted frame, (metallic blue hammer finish) little marks here & there from riding gear, boots scraping on rear set kind of thing :-(
Seat frame (sub-frame) is a one off custom made to suit the bike & tail to carry 2 up. ( original seats, subframe, pillion pegs, tail fairing / lights are available if required)
It was make to look cool & yet look kinda stock so the fuzz wouldn't give you a hard time, OPHW safe, tested & un-bothered by the nice fellow that is always there ;-)
The headlight is from a Fazer 250 ( import ) & currently running HID's high & low bean with an AceWell digital speedo, (I have a PDF copy of its Manual)
handle bars are a one off cold bend allow bar so it is using the clip ons sits higher than stock but not so full back as Mx bars, Also It has the straight clip on bars & MX bars with raisers available if required.
Fairing's & front end plastics, speedo brackets etc etc are not available, it got sold to fund the project.
Fully adjustable suspension front & back, rear end has a K5 shock, combined it sits about 1" lowered front end & 1" higher back end.
Carbies had a dyno tune (motorcycle weaponry) back in late 2011, stage 1 re-jet K&N filters with the old Magnum full system, it now has a MICOM exhaust muffler fitted to a after market magnum headers + exhaust wrap, so it flows much better. could go stage 2, drill air box & remove baffle pipes for more HP, honestly I don't think it is needed & flashy paint job to finish it up.

One of the guys on here went to look at this bike recently didn't he? Is it your bike Warren?
This isn't an attempt to sell your bike and by-passing the standard rules is it mate, or are you honestly just looking for a value that you think you should price it?

-
out of all seriousness though... it's a hard one to put a price on... thats why i come to you guys - the experts on this subject... just working a serious dollar value though... is it worth 4k to trade --- is it worth 5k to trade - I don't know... so i know i would be open to a few crackers to start with - hey thats cool... but just seeing if someone would really have a dollar value on it... so be kind...
-
@ gix11... yes you are correct... we have had an expression of interest on a used bike here and this is what he wants to trade... street fighters are a specific market... do we give a price or do we walk away... the customer wants a bit of coin for it... so trying to get to a price we all agree on... it's a very hard bike to trade in.
-
I see your dilema. It's the funny thing about streetfighters, how to price them. I know I've seen what I considered a better bike go for less than $4K, but I've seen a lot worse go for more.
I wouldn't want to speculate.
-
If I was buying that bike privately, I wouldn't pay as much as I would expect to get if I traded it.
I guess it all depends on what the guy is trading it on and how much fat is in the deal.
-
The owner has had it up for sale for a while now (was advertised on customfighters), that tells me its hard to sell.
The fact that the owner now wants to trade it instead of selling privately for more money means he's getting desperate and the bike is really hard to sell.
Most fighter riders are tight arses, which also makes it hard to sell. People will only pay money for show quality bikes, or completely stock factory fighters.
As the guys have said, hard to put a price on, but as a trade in, i reckon it'd be hard to make any money on, considering you may have to store it for a while until the right buyer comes in.
As you are a licensed dealer, you'd also be taking the risk of any defects, wiring/welding, etc.
-
I wouldn't. Touch it as a trade unless it was dirt cheap (wrecker value)
-
He'd probably make more money by breaking it.
