That is looking well cool mate!
Cannot find a single fecking baffle that'll fit the jardine can so I'll probably have to figure out something internal/custom.
On a happier note, picked this up today:

Whaddaya think? Fighter or slap the fairings back on?
CBR 250RR?? I would personally put Fairings on it
Thinking that too, although the fairings are gonna need a lot of work to be presentable.

She lives though, hopefully will start when I get the missing carb mounting bits I need.

Got a friend that is doing big bore kits for them :)

Russ is your man
Check out the Tyga fairing kits
Free bike! where the hell do I get a free bike from. I'd fighter it just for shits and giggles. Plastics are over rated.
Just gotta have a mate whose stacked his and cbf repairing it/has already stripped parts he needs for his other cbr250rr
Hmm deffs something I'll look into when I've got the thing running, would be interested to see dyno numbers, particularly torque.
I love the look of the small bore "Streetbomber" bikes out of Japan, like so:
This thing is probably my favourite:

Some of them have a real "No fucks given" look. Racing Beet Aeroshark front guard is de riguer.

Got her registered last night, since then have put 200 of the best kms I've ever had on her. Also attended a local group ride where we attracted a lot of very gratifying attention.
Found a few things that need fixing though, I definitely have warped disc, I need more speedo magnets and running a bit lean so probably need a tune.
Apart from those niggles shes been perfect.
I also found the only practical use for a smartwatch, tuning my speedo

Looks magic. It almost the perfect bike.
Wow, thanks! That's high praise
I have to say comparing how the bike handles now vs in stock form it's night and day. The short CBR forks and easily 20-30% weight drop have made an enormous difference. It feels much lighter than its wieght would indicate and is incredibly nimble in traffic, feels almost like a sumo.
Only thing I think needs changing are the headlight mounts as they limit the turning circle quite a bit.
Nice one Seb. Looks good mate.
I haven't logged in for a while...
I think I still have my stock vfr discs if you need them.
Mine is vfr is down to around 185kgs wet and say, 110hp (stock).
My MT09 is pretty much the same, which explains why a light weight VFR is hilarious.
which leads me to-
My wife is getting her L's. My MT09 will be getting moved on for a learner legal bike that I can commute on, and she can learn on.
Big Bore CBR 280, hey? That's learner legal ish....
Yes, squeezing my 190 odd cms onto a CBR 250 everyday may require renthals.
All good, gonna get a set of 330mm discs and space out the calipers.
Took her out to the local twisties this morning, suspension felt a little odd so I stopped in at the suspension smith who had a fiddle and made everything better.
That said I'm still gonna need to respring/valve the forks, shockingly CBR1000rr forks are sprung to heavy for a naked VFR.
So my laundry list of things to do is:
- New 330mm discs
- Make a coolant overflow tank
- RapidBike tune
- Suspension setup
- Paint/cf wrap the damn thing
Congrats on the rego, and its looking good mate.
