So I rang my private insurance back and told them to shove the full cover up their arse and took out primium ambulance and extras instead.

Mine was a Kawasaki Z650, which had been lovingly restored, and which I lovingly unrestored and made into a ratty Streetfighter. A lot of people would cry these days, but in the day I got so many more comments after I changed it. Didn't do a whole lot, but it was my first go. It had the twin spots, all unecessary bits removed, cut down front guard, rear guard removed and twin tail lights tucked up under the tail piece, drag bars and polished forks and of course matt black. This was followed by a ZZR1100 powered ZX10 Streetfighter, but that's a whole new story. I was a late starter and didn't get my licence until I was 21 (basically 'cause I had nowhere to live and money was a pipe dream). The first road bike I had ridden was a mate's FZ600, and I dropped it in car park, no licence, never even sat on a road bike, it was bound to happen. Then I got my licence and was in such a rush I got a total pig; a GPZ500S! A mate was a Kwaka dealer and said it was cheap and good, what he should have said was it was cheap and shit. So to call a bike I owned for 4 days "my very first road bike" is a reality, but not really one that counts, so I'm ignoring it. So, in that case, my first bike was a very new 1990 Kawasaki ZZR600. I loved it. I fucked the first one and got another (in black this time) but just for reference, this is what I had:



I'm sure I have photos of the actually bike somewhere in the world, but not here right now.

So I put my Speed Triple back together and fire it up in the garage. Sweet all lights and horn work and all's good and rosy. Turn it off, close the garage door and leave it overnight.
Next day I leather up turn the key and zilch, nothing, a dead motor.

Lights and indicators work and starter motor turns over with no problems. Upon further investigation it turns out that as soon as I turn the key my 15amp fuse in the engine ignition circuit pops.

The frustrating thing is that the bike was starting and running fine before I turned the ignition off and just left it in the garage.

Has anybody got any suggestions as to where I might start looking to find the problem. My first thoughts are that it may be something to do with the ignition barrel or the fuse box but that's an uneducated guess and probably just clutching at straws.

Took off the scary 160/60/17 battleaxe

Put on a 160/60/17 michy pilot road 3

Chain tension is correct and wheel is aligned properly, tyre pressure is good.

Now i know tyre sizes can verry and the battleaxe was rubbing
The chain but the michy is getting eaten!

I know eventually the chain will wear enough away and clear and im not overly
worried about it, more pissed off a its a new tyre!
