Who would you guys recommend to service the carbies and tune my 1990 GSXR1100? It had sat in a shed for a few years before coming into my posession and I just don't have the time to have a go at an overhaul myself. It's running like a dog around 3000-4000 and stalls at idle a bit.

Thanks in advance.

I have never heard anything bad about joes motorcycles mate. I have also had good dealings with the bike shop in Tuggeranong not sure of the name of it though.

If you mean Fred, then it's Tuggeranong Muffler & Exhaust Centre. It's near JAX

Yeah, have spoken to Brett @Moto Garage initially. Rough quote was $350-$400, including sonic cleaning of carbs. That sound in the ballpark these days? It's been a while...

Well, I made some time over Easter to take the carbies off, strip them down, give everything a good clean and put back together. Found 2 carbs had gunk clogging up the emulsion tubes, plus a bit of water in one of the float bowls.

Everything back together and running a lot better now. Instead of stumbling and missing around 3500-5000, now it just has a bit of a flat spot at the same revs. Hopefully saved myself a few bucks and very satisfying to have done this myself :D. I might still take it in for a tune, then finally get the bloody thing registered...

PS. Nobody mentioned Rick Miller yet. Is he still in the game? Also, does Russel Davis still have a shop down the coast somewhere (Bateman's Bay I think)? I remember Russel used to race an 1100 when I was running around in C grade on a 600.
