Well it's been a busy 4 week's 8am to midnight most days, but I finaly finished it.Waddya think? It's amazing what you can get done when you have a deadline (& a very understanding wife).I had to get it done for a photo shoot for Rapid & to go on their stand at the Sydney bike show on the 18th. With that kind of deal I'd be mad not to get it done.

I'm with Fimp man, I need some of those wheels. Been looking for someone over here that does split rims for ages. Even the colour's good. You're on fire mate. (I'm going to have to have a lie down).

Cheers Fellas that's the kinda response I wanted, cause I'm proud of this one & I'd hate to think I was on the wrong track.
Oz there's more bling than I'd usually have too, but being a "show bike" I wanted something that would stand out & be a bit different.
Hooli I'm still sorting the tuning, I've got a local guy that is a freak with the Autronic puter's & I'm hoping to get to the Dyno this week, the way things are at the mo I probably wont get to the drags till Dec some time.
Fimp these wheels were a lot of work cause I don't have a CNC machine ,so would cost bout $6000 to replicate solids would be cheaper but still bout $3500-$4000.Seat unit I can supply in glass with carbon undertray & seat pad for bout $850.

SEN - FUCKING - SATIONAL Benno, :D [:p] you've really outdone yourself this time. That's my kind of bike, lovin' all that custom fabrication mate, top notch, you would'a been swimming in swarf making those wheels ay? If you're not on the map already, this bike will put you there alright.
It's good to see an Aussie building world class Streetfighters, keep up the good work.
Tell me, What are those calipers?
What have you done with the radiator/intercooler? are they joined together one behind the other?(BTW - stroke of genius routing the intercooler plumbing thru the ram air holes - looks real neat.
Tuff looking triple clamps too [:p]
MV tail unit looks sweet as well [:p]
Turbo too ! [:p]
Matter of fact, there's nothing on that bike I don't like :D[:p]:)
I'm planning on winning the lotto soon, when I do, I'll make you an offer you can't refuse :)

Thanks again all I appreciate all the kind words.
Badvan the calipers are ISR from Sweden, first time I saw them was on the Predator 7/11 streetfighter in England, then the Ghostrider busa, they've gotta be the trickest brakes on the market methinks,I just had to have them.Fronts are awesome, rear is fucking usless(due to its small size), I have the disks made to my own design Front's are AU$990/pr rear is AU$220,they are not the cheapest disks around, due to the small quantity's I produce.
Turbokat I welded the Intercooler & rad together to keep it compact & save on brackets.Intercooler Piping was one of the main reasons I used the ZX9 ,cause it had symetrical round inlets through the frame,& I like things to look even.

Nice shots mate - good find!

04-01-2006, 09:36 PM
Looks like there's a fair bit of movement left in that swing-arm. That'd have to help.

What's the brake system Ben?

EXBEN
05-01-2006, 07:59 PM
Yeah that was the first time out to get a feel for the bike. Before I go back again I've got to fit new chain & sprockets to drop the gearing & move the wheel right back, fit a smaller but stickier rear tyre, sort the shifter, sort the rear suspension, lower it a touch,& learn to keep it upright.
Chalky the brakes are ISR.

Ah ben whats the colour you painted it,i lov it and want something similar but dont want to steep on your toes buy doing it the same.
So if i know what it is i can work from that.
Ive just got another tank for my blade so the new paint is coming, and im looking to do something different but would like something close as a base colour for the design.

EXBEN
20-01-2006, 10:15 PM
House of colour Apple red (candy) over a light gold base, swing by some time & I'll show you exactly.

yeah i love the colour Ben. I was planning to do my bike in a silver marble coated in candy red. I was hoping to create a skin effect( snake /croc) with the marble, just a subtle effect not in yer face.
I did a marble effect on the 9r using HOK paints it was cobalt blue and really liked it; however the bike got trashed and is being reborn.

21-01-2006, 11:45 PM
cobalt neon blue, definately 1 of my favourite colours.also a big hit with my customers when choosing colours for glass splash backs.

Can't blame you, heard the Judge the other day from outta sight, then Ben pulled up outside work.Had a little chat while drooling over the bike again.I think he mentioned it being 6 years old now but it still seems groundbreaking...certainly drew in the onlookers and was almost groundshaking as he took off. 'Benchmark' was the term I used to one of the interested viewers.
