02-11-2006, 11:27 AM
the seat is off a 03 ZX6R same as the Z1000 now .. it took a while to fit because i had too many jobs on the go at the time , but its an easy fit . the lower sub frame got cut and shut to make it shorter were it meets the upper sub frame and the rear cross brace got chopped off then a just had to make a couple of brakets here and there and bamm its on .. got one of those cool LED tail lights with the blinkers in it too

sickboy
02-11-2006, 12:02 PM
That looks awesome mate ,can you tell me how you have mounted your handle bars, did you drill the triple clamp? and did you have to do any machining on the underside of the triple clamp? any info greatly appreciated.

latheboy
02-11-2006, 01:44 PM
i just drilled the clamp .. i did have to put it in the milling machine and take off the two posts on the under side then picked up the center of the post and drilled straight through .. you need to find the center of these post so you have the most material around the bolt as possible .. i drilled a Ø12.1 hole for a M12 cap screw .. its go a nyloc nut with a normal size flat washer and the cap screw is grade 8 , i dont beleive that you need a big washer there if you can find a spot that has a bit of material around the hole .. ive also get a 30mm spacer between the clamp and the bar clamps so it clears the fork tops ... ill get a pic tonight and post it tommorrow

well done on all the mods you've done, she looks tough as, must make you feel proud knowing you've done it all your self. Looks very unique. As much of a pain in the arse painting the back wheel like that, it was so worth it, that looks fucking sick!!! you should do the front to match. awsome job dude!!

Another old slingy crawls out of the tar pit. Fucken mint man. You seen http://www.oldskoolsuzuki.info/

They would dig that. 96 hp is good for a 750 oil boiler. And I am sure you meant "well run in" not "old". I just replaced the rubber carb bell mouth setup and put the foamy filters over them and got a nice bit of low end mid range power back. Less like a light switch. Will get it on a dyno and post the reults. As I am sure when I put the foamy ones on I lost power.

Nice ride, keep posting the results.http://w3.bikepics.com/pics/2008%5C04%5C16%5Cbikepics-1255324-full.jpg

latheboy
19-08-2008, 07:05 AM
Its a keeper for the moment Oldskool, i might need it for a sex machine or sumfin ... Your first up if i sell

Debaser, id get yours on dyno soon if you can, with mine when i took the air box off and the pods on it was run so lean it would have gone kaboom sooner than later.. Changing from pods to filters shouldnt be so bad but just be awhere of it.. I havnt checked out oldschoolsuzuki, ill get around to it one day ..

It the same front sorry Huey:D

I wanted the axle Zinced black but the coater doesn't do black anymore so it had to be gold because zinc blue (looks silver)is ghey... Cant conplain when its free..
Seeing as the whole front end was free id be winning if i swapped the calipers for a 6er but somehow gibbo i dont like your chance's:D

latheboy
16-10-2008, 10:30 PM
Yup its a 800 swinger ... i had to lose 35mm off the width to get it in the frame ..
The front is already in i just havnt got any photo's of it .. ill get around to it this weekend

So i said the other day that i've no time for bike, well thats not strictly true..
I've been flat out at work getting some new products built, flat out doing foriegners too.
I make circus stuff for a mate, rebuild ski equipment and anything else that comes along which makes my stuff take a back seat.

So i made a brake res becuase the old one was ghey and too long. It was a prototype and this is V2

Crappy photo but you can get the jist of it

http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1281118646.jpg

And i was stuffing around with the carb's and noticed one of the caps was stuffed so i made some new ones.
They still need a polish yet so what you see is the first assembely before the carb rebuild.
There's a couple of hours in making these and the post in the center was a pain but i'm happy with how they come up.
