A couple of blokes from my site used to race these.

50+hp worth of methanol burning formula500 engine into a Deltek rock hopper.

Honda Z50 with a YZ80 engine before Willowbank banned him from racing it.

Bring on Junior bike I reckon. Can you imagine a skilled 12 year old weighing in at 40kg's soaking wet getting down the strip on something like that.

2 second 60 foot on that cructh rocket is fuckin awesome, hey shane did someone get busted up on those bikes for them to ban them? i think done properly there is no reason why they cant be as popular as the mini dragsters, they have got a decent following...

Hi Guys-- I am Des's brother(blue ZX12R)& GS1100 Sidecar & Mini Motards (150's)
If the weather holds I will be taking my quicker 150 to the Test & Tune today.
I want to get an accurate speed from my 150 "Race" engine.
I will let you know if i have trouble with getting the Motard on the Track.

Just got in from Willowbank-- Good News-- They have no problem with Mini Motards running.
My DHZ Mini Motard 150GPX only had 2 runs because of huge fields, oil downs & GSXR750 looping on the startline.
First run spoiled when wheelstand jarred the choke on--
Second run 18.05 at 70.6 mph.
Running lean on the needle- should have no problem making 17.5s next time
If you have a Motard bring it out to Willowbank-- The riders and crowd were very supportive.
70mph gearing is 17/37 with 120/70 road tyres.

Small Wheel Deals at Paisley Drv. Lawnton is expected to bring a bike or two. They will be advising their customers that Test and Tunes at Willowbank are available to run Mini Motards.

Willowbank 10/4 -- 17.7 at 70mph. The speed is restricted by gearing--Smaller rear on the way. Great fun--

OMFG.....Finally I find other people who are interested in this kind of cheap fun!!!! Oddly enough I just found this site & thread by chance while googling images of Willowbank for a Lego project (long story - go & google "Lego Digital Designer" & find out).

How many of you on here are interested in doing this on a semi regular basis? I ask because after a long time of drag racing cars in the street series I changed to two wheels & couldn't resist taking the scooter out for some shits & giggles.

As it turns out in Europe, Taiwan, Puerto Rica & the US scooter drag racing is a legit category in it's own right.......to the point you can buy off the shelf dragster frames from a site in Germany:

If ayone is going back out to the track with their MM's please let me know!

Awesome!!! Hopefully will have the upgraded engine finished & tuned by then - will come out with it as well. Not sure on the performance, but with an ET of 22 sec on a stock 50cc carrying 105kg rider, changing up to 98cc should net a sub 20....I hope :-)

damn wish i had seen this earlier i not long ago sold my road registered motovert mini motard with a chp racing 175cc with tb 186cc kit i had 17/32 gearing and could hit 117k's on the flat before hitting rev limiter. would have loved to raced someone down the strip.
maybe i can build a budget non road reg version to race hmm
