Mate it's an oil cool jobbie but not 100% on year will it matter????

Pappas could probably tell me he purchased the engine and fitted it.

All i kno is it's a gsx11 not a gsxr,im told the only difference to the engine is cams.

Is this right????

Now I'm confused. Is it a GSX engine but you're looking for GSXR cams?

ping!
that would be why you thought the rig was gutless. from your previous thread i remember you said it would hardly pull the front up. its a GSX mill and not GSX-R ;)

Its a oilcooled GSX1100F motor. Not an aircooled GSX1100 motor. Its a detuned GSXR1100 motor. Different cam and a few other minor changes. Damo, GSXR cams will go in no probs, either 750 or 1100. Damo are your cams the forked rocker cams or the 1 lobe per valve?

Oh yeah ther was also the GSX1100G (i think was G) that was an oilcooled shaft drive version. Crankcases were different tho.

Damo, pull the rocker cover off, the first thing you need to know is are they forked rocker cams or the 1 lobe per valve?

No worries cheers boys i'll have to pull the cover off and have a sqizzy.

I'll leave it for now and come back to it later on down the track, ive started other things with it and it's not ridable at the moment any way.

Cheers boys i'll get back to you.

Is this right????

It's a 89 or 90 GSX1100F motor. The GSXF was actually quicker down the quarter than the GSXR and is supposed to have more low down grunt. I think the problem is gearing as the GSXF had 15-52T sprockets and your GSXR750 had 15-45T sprockets!

Cheers pappas the actual gearing on the bike now is 15-44 that explains it why it's such a slug.

I do want the gsxr cams for better top end performance on the track,as in race track not drags.

So as soon as i can ill the the top off and have a look at them cams.

And once the VFR8 sssa goes in i'll look at getting the gearing sorted.
