Picked this gsxr 750 up real cheap and what started as a quick strip and clean has taken on a life of its own and is now consuming mine. I cant decide on what is a good angle for the seat thats going to keep me on it but not crush my balls on the tank, I really want to keep the short look but i dont need my testicles removed by the wheel hugger if i slip off. Now that all the parts have arrived (all lighting from the states) i have to make a desision. Any suggestions?
Dont mind the cardboard infills. Have ally ones rolled to fit.

What do you think about frame plugs? They are pretty easy to spin up except for the one where the frame angles inward. A bit of guess work with the mill.

Lookin good mate,

RE the seat: what you got now looks a good angle, when i had mine bobbed with a zx10 seat it was on a slightly less angle and kept me well and truelly on the seat, you could try some grip type substance on the seat if your too concerned.

Good stuff mate - The frame plugs look the goods. Heres a tip tho - don't bother trying to match the angle of the frame - you'll never get it perfect (unless you are some kind of god - and there are a few around).
Just drop it about a mm below the surface at the lowest point and it'll still look the shit.
Good luck mate - more pics as you go!

Liking the look of it mate , as for the frame plug mate , why not just leave a little more thickness on the head and then ever so slowly grind it down;)

Sadly all Joe's other posts had images in them which he had hosted somewhere else and they've all been deleted. This is the only photo I could find of his Srad.

He's still kicking around over State side: http://streetfightersus.com/streetfighters/thumbnails.php?album=lastupby&uid=14

Ive decided this is what i will go with. A weekend of welding and sanding should do the trick, fit tags for numberplate (numberplate bolts have L.E.D in the head) .Then i can send off for anodizing and rebate the brake L.E.D's into the subframe. Indicators???

That's very cool, love the short seat. Would be neat if you rebated the indicators into the subframe also. Nice work.

How about rear indicators in the foot pegs or swing arm ends? Just a thought.

Love what you have done so far.

Nearly finished. It took 5 weeks from taking it apart, modifying and put it back together. I had the Jap bike show as a finished date come hell or high water. Finished it 2am the morning of the show. About 90%. This weekend will fit frame plugs, air intake grills, wheel hugger and cut the paint back (still off the gun)neaten up handle bars. Will take some better shots of it then.

Thanks. After this weekend i will try and work out how to attach more than 1 pic at a time and put a start to finish set of shots. Let me know if i can help in anyway, now that ive done a bobbed tail bike, there were some very hard lessons learnt with the build and the legalities.Anything in particular you want to see?
