Top job mate with loads of good progress. I have a feeling with your obvious drive and enthusiasm its gonna be a stunna when its finished.

Cheers fellas, the progress is prob credited to drunken mates (the only way to disassemble) and an as yet undiagnosed strain of A.D.D. With any luck she'll be ready for AFR!

Anyone got any idea what rearsets will fit 1100W or where to get some model specific?

stainless is good, wat about kevlar ?

Chase
12-03-2009, 09:54 AM
Is kevlar easy to work with? Don't think I've ever used it. where can I get it?

opindown
12-03-2009, 10:40 AM
kevlar asfar as i am aware of is aplied the same as carbon fibre but is a little more expensive. spole to a guy about making a carbon bonnet for my turbo starlet when i had it and he said that i would of had to do a couple of layers of carbon, then he told me that he could make it just as strong with kevlar. do some googleing and you might come up with a place that sells it or try LSM in Toowoomba Qld http://www.lsm.net.au/ thier contact details are on thiere site.

Harry
12-03-2009, 07:43 PM
im not sure mate ,i think its just a case of laying sheets of kevlar and bonding it together with some sort of resin, you would be better off putting the question up in the need some advice section im sure someone will be able to answer you better than me,iv only ever paid for finished products from gelong carbon craft but watching them work it did'nt look that hard mate, its just a case of shaping the stuff..much like fibre glass, wen its cut with mesh inserted in the holes and glued in it look's hot,be a flash look with the fighter knuckles cut out and maybe gold mesh inserted into the perferation :)

Like the lights too, did you get them from the US? What is the light output like and is the beam decent or really flat and wide? Any chance of a night photo from behind the bars with them on?

The dyno was 146 at the rear from memory, he did a bloody good job. Th only thing I could say against the pods is it has a bit of a flat spot about 4k if you try to take off there - but no prob if you just wind it through, runs much happier up top. Looks heaps neater with the pods.

Yeah never really happy with the original seat, think this should look better. The tail is fibreglass and the insert is plastic. The fibreglass was originally built in layers so I cut in 1 layer the same thickness as the insert and used a epoxy glue to bond them, a bit of body filler over the top and it should come up good.
