XR 500 CDI ?

bit of a long shot but a mates trying to hunt down a good CDI for an '85 XR 500? any input would be great

you could use a XL500 cdi they are the same not sure what else fits but maybe try your local honda dealer for info

thanks BANDITROD , will see wot i can find , need to go get some filters on tuesday so i will have a talk with the shop then. getting hard to find little treasures like that , then again i guess we've all had availability probs at some stage.

Yeah mate i sold all my XR500 parts a couple of years ago otherwise you could have had a few of the fuckers but thats what i used as a replacement

When my old xr 500- played up it was the coil, put one from a 250 3 wheeler on it it was fine..

thanks booster , seems the other bike is no longer there , his missus told him to clean up the yard , i havnt had time to look at the bike myself so i dont know if its the coil or CDI, just going on what he said , another CDI would be handy though :), i will look into it.
