Scored this El Tricko Billett Sump Cover from the crew at D+D Industries in Victoria.

This one is to suit GSX/EF,(GS1150), and comes with "O" Ring Gasket, and Mounting Bolts.

Im lead to believe that you can also get different Height Profiles for your GSX, the one above being a "Street Bike" Cover, the fellas have made shallower ones aswell.

Bit of a problem with the design of the sump plug, with the internal thread boss, you'd still have half a litre of dirty oil in the sump when you drained your oil. I reckon it's probly done that way for maximum ground clearance on dragqueens but not too practical on a road bike.

looking at the pic it looks like its just recessed in like the rest of the bolts and also the inside shot looks like it has slots cut into it so oil will still drain TK but i have been wrong before

Your right there Rod they do have slots but they must only be 5 or 6mm so it'll take a while to drain and it got the 2 steps that are lower than the main face, they will never empty..

Bwain can you get a closser shot of the hole (in the top pic) thats the second from the lower right, it got some marks and was just wondering what they are...

Might just be the lighting, but the surface finish looks a bit poor.

the bigger step is the same as stock sump that is where the pickup sits the 2nd small step is for clearance if a stud kit is fitted the boss for the drain plug is slotted and is 6mm up from the bottom so draining is not a problem

Welcome probike.... Im not knocking your work but the hole second from the right looks to have an un-machined surface, is it just the light or does it not matter so much as its not the sealing surface?

And wouldn't it be cheap in machine time to get a larger face cutter than a Ø20mm (approx guess) ?

close 19mm must be the light it is machined and was ok when it left here

Hi guys, Sorry, i didnt get around to subscribing to this thread, so im not getting notification of replys, seems "probike" is doing a good job explaining whats the go with the steps inside the sump pan. :)

Personally, the item is a ripper as far as im concerned, it will be a fitting addition to my EF, when she is finished (approx mid this year) i will make sure you all get to see her.

As for the price, its pretty insignificant when you consider what you hand over for getting a performance engine built, or what you hand over for a Dyna 2000 etc, F@*k me, i paid AUD$340.00 for the most trickest pair of annodised billett mirrors for my ride, so the cost of this pan is nuthin in comparison.

Ps: Latheboy, the surface is machined, its simply the light. :)

Don't really like to knock your work, but as someone that does this sort of stuff for a living, the quality looks below par.
There is not a chamfer in sight, and there are loose burrs around the sump plug thread just waiting to drop off in to the oil. If one of my apprentices handed that to me I would tell him to go away and finish it.

Fair comments but it was made here for a change.a little fine tuning it will be nice.

That's the problem tho' fine tuning is fine for cosmetic items, but things such as these should be right first time. It is a very simple part to make, and having loose bits of metal that can get in to the oil is not on.
It looks like it was made by someone who is not a machinist, (a tradesman would not let that go out the door, let alone be shown on a public forum) but has access to cad/cam and a cnc. The devil is in the detail as they say.
