G`day, i`m new to the scene, i`m putting upside down forks on a bandit from an 07-08 gix, now i need to convert or buy if they are made a triple clamp to put a set of bars on. Does any body make after market clamps to turn into street fighter for gix`s or do you convert originals some how? I dont like the idear of drilling holes in the originals, as one person told me to do (as they are not engineered for this ,and lack of meat where this individual suggested)
Any feed back appreciated, thanks.

drill em. you will be right. you are not gunna pull 2 or 4 bolts through a piece of 6-8mm alloy.

most of the load is taken by the bottom triple anyway and the top is nowhere near as stressed.

hundreds if not thousands of people world wide hve drilled their top triple and i have never seen or heard of issues arising by doing so.

keep in mind your gix front end is not 'engineered' to take the extra weight etc of the bandit but did you think twice about selecting that for the conversion?

dont beleive everything you hear especially if it isn't from an experienced person.

welcome

How about using the top yoke from the gix if you're going to drill? Or, you could contact AUSFR, as was first suggested.
By the way, it's considered polite to introduce yourself in the welcome section

Well from one boilermaker to another mate i can honestly say that yes your top clamp will be fine to drill mate if you are that woried about it just put some large washers underneath for extra strength oh and welcome aboard mate

you can drill it no worries, as rod said make some plates to go underneath to spread the load around a bit if you're worried. Ive done that and have no probs(stunt bike so if its going to break on anything it'd be that!)

Busa one's are odd, 2 top yolk's.
Lower joins forks to stem,
Upper clamps on top but takes the clip-on's.

I changed both for one aftermarket from Stu,
not the cheapest option, but perfect fit,
safe, and looks tidy.
