Kat did 10.4 @ 142 on 3 1/2 cylinders.
Was trying to pull collet grooves out of valves after 'reputable' engine man put gsxr rockers in it during head repairs when probike crank broke.
Moral of story: trust no cnut. ever. always double check.
Was lucky it didn't fly to bits.
8 new exhaust valves on way from states after another clitoris frigged me around for 18 weeks and still didnt supply valves.
Has gone properly for about 5 minutes. Fuck it's fun to ride.
Started drag bike on Tuesday night.
All sweet.
Front end in tomorrow, make a seat and she's ready to test.

Chassis: old budweiser(?) kwaka turbo topbike chassis.
Checked alignment, cut out old engine mounts and make new t/s suzuki.
dedagged, rear wheel hoop, seat mount, graft in 750 gsxr front end, make and mount 'wheel tub' and ancillary equipment 'pod'.
sandblast. painted it last sat/sun.
Engine: 1428. currently set to 14.2:1 cr. gsxr750 head 30/26mm ss. valves.flows 125 cfm at 10"=218 hp. ceramictop pistons/ whet sides.
polished oem crank w/. falicon knife edge rods, slider clutch, 5 spd auto. air shift.
when i do a 8.5/145 with a <1.20 60' it gets a decomp plate and some wind up it's arse. then i want a 6 sec quarter. 6.99 is fine!
not having used a slider clutch before may prove a challenge. I'm not past rippin the locker clutch out of the kat, yet.
6 months plan/ collect/ 'pre-assemble' all come together in about 4 days. gives me half a chubby and I can't wait to take it for a snort.

livewire
23-12-2008, 08:29 AM
Hey Ice.
Yeah, big back tyre takes some pushin round, especially if you're only a runt probike rider. That all started with 2nd gear wheel spin whilst front wheel up at 60 foot. Then you get 3rd and 4th wheelspin cos you're not in the groove, you're on a 'regional track' (which I'm thankfull to have, and only 28 k's from home.), and wishin you hadda just bought that new slick instead of 'just trying' this 3+ year old one. Was an unreal buzz!
Was still prettywell pegged but, haha. ( runt probike rider!)
Goes to show centre line not nearly as scary as wall.
Shift light was being a shift light and stopped working. I should have already given it a led conversion. Harsh enviroment for globe filament.
Wanna take it out again unboosted for more clutch tuning, and am now getting turbo bits together.
Imagine I'll be annoying 'Booster' a bit in the new year.
Would be good to have it all together end of March.
A 6 for my 45th early April would be a neat trick. Whilst 8.5 is what it should do as is, it's about a year and half from a 6, not a second and a half. Thinkin it's gunna take some doing, and I hope like fuck I get there. As you know, 'Boost is a wonderful thing!'
Havin fun tryin but, and spose that's the best bit.
Cheers,
G

Tag is on air shift button lockout so you dont forget it before launch. Lockout stops accidental gear shifts ( button under left thumb)which can bend shift forks.
Auto boxes (made to shift on full load, just bang it in) can be finnicky c.o.t.'s. Easy to bend shift fork/shaft s.
Penalty: Pull motor out , split cases and replace $18 shaft. Re-assemble and put back in bike. Electrics, exhaust, carbies. The whole f'n deal. Basicly fux a day.
Would be pretty embarrassing to leave lockout in, hence the pretty obvious ribbon. Carby plugs have the same, cause it's all too easy to miss them.

MPE datalogger. Good product with shithouse after sales service.

Looks as though Graeme uses his shiftlight as a reading light. Pink trace gives the game away!

Love the barebones style.

livewire

What's a lateral? ( you naughty teaser, you)
Pink line is actually Wide Open Throttle set at 98%
I call it the ballometer. Solid is good.
That line really a bit girly.
Was on it, but obviously not 100%
Probably rolled a bit fightin it.
Shift is usually shown in red and none showing due to no switching on "lower" side of globe with filament blown.
First 2 runs it worked(I seen it) and showed on logger.
Has to be another tenth in it, looking at data.
And another tenth in good air and hooked. barometer = 994 mB
Was only a 1.25 60'. ( hence the clutch tuning and new slick)
Funny thing is, 'dream wheel' sez it should do 8.60 @ 155.
(630 lbs & 210 hp)
And has a inlet cam in exhaust (for turbo), way too big carbies and limited to 11,500 rpm to test, so I'm not helping it much.
Logger is a FXL logger. I'm into tronics and I know the man that makes them.
Display software by a man in Perth for MPE who I believe is just an
'entrepaneur'/on seller.

G

G'day Graeme,

Have another look at the second post and you'll see a smiling clown. To most people that would indicate a comment made in jest.

First comment was also made in jest.

Graeme from FXL has pulled the pin on making dataloggers. I'm fitting one of the last that he made to the fuel bike now.

Oh yeah, had my WOT and Shift light trace colours confused. I will apologise for that.

Still love the style of your new toy.

Tried calling but your phone rang out.

Have fun,

Mick, try replace/resolder crystal on datalogger. Look for dry joints. Gets hard after that.

We didn't video anything that day, so that one handy.
Did 2 x 8.4's and 2 x 1.19 60 foots.
Clutch does what I hoped so now it comes apart for decomp and stick on the turbo, which is being built now.

Hey Livewire, that 60 foot time blows me away.do you think the turbo will make it harder to launch .top work mate,

livewire
30-01-2009, 12:00 PM
I'm hoping it does everything the same, just faster.
Low boost launch, sub 1.20 60' should do it, then wick it up and hold on like fuck!
Mind you, a 1.0 60' would be a wild ride, bring it on.
Only a 11" back slick but, so would be fairly optermistic.
Hopefully slider clutch will just work on revs and power at launch may not be too different.
Clutch has been pretty friendly to date, tuning wise.
Just gotta make sure the monkey has his shit together. haha

No Hollywood bullshit here. Where's all the fibreglass stuff?????

What you need to do is set the back wheel up crooked, and offset the wheelie bars to make it more fun to ride.

Agree with Mick though. See no lateral G-Force curve in the data. Gotta watch those lateral forces, they can be an absolute serial pest. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Will be seein Booster in the very near, and we'll start doing plumbing and stuff. Wanna take it out "au natural" once more just as a final preboost test and then into it. Also to give Greg a snort on it to get a taste of a wide tyred ride before it turns into a mad thing. Might even get it to afr to do that.
Would be neat if it was ready in maybe 8 weeks, but we'll see how we go. Don't wanna stuff things up by rushing it. Cant wait for me and Greg to be walking round with white sticks and smiles coz our eyeballs are melted, haha.
