thats right it has come around again.

the last race of the interclub calendar will be run and won tomorrow at broadford race track.

after an average result last round at winton (4th in class) i am looking to finish the season strong. with the championship all but sewn up for 1st and 2nd currently i am in 3rd and looking the secure that position this weekend.

with new michy slicks fitted this week and the chance of rain god knows how the weekend will turn out. previous wet riding/racing as been very promising with lap times only 5 sec slower than my fastest dry times.

either way team ASF is looking for a strong finish to what has been so far a better than expected rookie season.

if you find yourself at a loose end tomorrow and can tolerate some shit weather then come up to broadford for a look see

see you at the track

thanks guys for your help/surport today it was great to see you their

was a great day riding. weather was a little sketchy for one of the races but we stayed in one piece.

managed to knock another 1.5 seconds off my previous best

started the day with a club race (points go toward the club championship) and starting of pole i got an ok start (at least i didn't loose 5 positions before the first corner)tipped in 3rd and exited in 2nd. took me till the last lap to get to the lead but i made it stick and took the win.

my pre modern races were great finished 3rd in all 3 with a great dice in the last race of the 3 races.

after banditrod and iceman left i had a consolation race and after starting off 3rd position i was leading into the first turn, unfortunaley after 1-1/2 laps the motor was starting to go off song as the battery was dieing slowly (gotta love total loose ignitions). unfortunately i couldn't use more than 1/2 throttle and therefore was unable to hold onto 1st and coasted to a 2nd place. put the multimeter on the battery when i came in and with only 7.5 volts in the battery i can understand why it didn' want to run.

ended the day with 3 trophies. 2nd for the consulation race, third for pre modern and 3rd in the pre modern over 500 championship.

for my first year of racing i am very happy with the results. bring on 2009 and hopefully more silverware for the poolroom.

just turn the throttle and hold on mate, has worked for me so far. the watercooled gixxer was never a great handling bike but still i am about 4 sec off the best time the bike as done around that circuit. more track time is needed i think.

fimp - that battery will be going in the bin. i have 5 more and that one only did about 3 races and went flat very quickly so i think i will give it the boot. lesson i learned from that was that i should put a volt meter on the battery after every race.

Glad it worked mate! Love the ever decreasing lap times, and like how you left it till the last moment to pass that guy so he had no chance of pulling it back. Good on a mate.
