Bought a K4 1000 a few months ago from the auctions to build as a dragbike it looked like this
http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t31/GSXR1370TURBO/2008_060704GSXR10000001.jpg
Ive done a bit of work and it now looks like this 68in, nitrous, Tsukigi sidewinder, air shifter, 2 step, 1.5in billet sump with swinging pickup should be finished in the next few weeks. Then testing time.

Shit hot mate!
Very pointy tail......did you extend the lines, and come with that??
Looks mean,should scream!

ozkat
07-11-2008, 07:11 PM
Yeah the tail is a bit pointy but nowhere near as pointy as it looks in the pics. Ben did the swingarm for me, was a normal K4 1000 arm he lopped off the top brace, extended it by 13in and underbraced it. His work is the best you can get, absolutely perfect. As for the times im hoping to be a contender in the "8sec for 8 grand" class ;) Should be good at AFR09. The brake lines surprised me , i flipped the line around on the master cylinder and moved it slightly on the caliper and its the right length, surprised me alot. Dropped it on its guts today, ive got 2.5in clearance at the lowest point now which is the shock linkage knuckle, so thats as low as i can go.

hornee... do i hear a challenge to the 8 secs for 8 grand title tho? ;)

Booster
08-11-2008, 08:05 AM
You can get a straight link knuckle , lets you get lower and increases the rocker ratio .like on here http://innovativemachine.com/Innovative%20Products.htm or here
http://shop.twowheelwerkz.com/product.sc;jsessionid=56FB40B79058CE0C1BECFD12EB52 F500.qscstrfrnt02?categoryId=16&productId=23
what spring will you use? my long busa runs a 16 kg/mm (std is 13) and the long arm on my 750 has a busa spring (750 std is 8kg/mm)

Greg got a flat link on order from Zook at the moment should be here soon, also Wayne that races the white outlaw bike up here can get springs for a good price wasnt sure which one to get, might try a 18kg/mm one tho.
Pete, yeah the 8sec for 8 grand title should be interesting, Ben will most likely have more power than me but ill have time on my side as i should have mine finished sooner. Im not sure if my bike will haul my fat arse into the 8sec zone tho. I reckon Large should get in on this too with his ZX12R.

gixkat

cant go much lower mate, remember they have got a 50 mm minimum height limit, i should know they measured mine and i passed by 5mm , bloody little hitlers!
lookin good mate hope it makes some track time before you sell it lol.
cheers, GK (aka budgie)

The first naked pic of it looked wicked...tough as and different...sorry mate, but with the full fairing it will just blend in with all the rest...it needs a sharp pointy fairing, not a full race reppy thing...

Hey Shane, lookin good mate, the sidewinder exhaust looks great when does it get a run on the strip.

Thanks for the replies, its taken a fair bit of work and money to get this far. Rick, oh yeah she is cranky, amazing what cams and compresion do. Sharky, its about going quick not looks,im not the most aero dynamic bloke around i need the fairings and race rep fairings fit within the rules for me. Rockhard the pipe is a work of art, Tsukigi make an amazing system, cost an amazing amount money too. I think im the first to run this system in Australia. Should be at Willowbank testing in the new year. Also running a very different MPS clutch setup, slider but can ride it back to the pits. Lots of TnTs to come.

Long arm and no traction made the starts a bit loose, it was hard to ride, i crossed lanes in front of someone (monoman i think) i was hoping someone might have video of a couple of the launches.

So the biggest question is, when do you get it on the track for a run? It looks great by the way, but video of it doing a run down the 1/4 or even the 1/8 would be great ozkat! ;)
