i dont mean to repeat myself, i said i dont mean to repeat myself. BUT
i thought it might be a good idea to post in this section also. some of you were a great help last year with advise, when i asked for it, just to jog your memories, I have finally been granted our visas to emigrate to adelaide (because i have friends there before you ask) over here in england my hand vrafted exhausts have been pretty sought after since i started making them in 1998, read more and see more here www.karitsuperformance.co.uk , well afetr we settle , i shall be testing the market for my silencers and parts that i make, and boy have i saved the best designs for you guys! we hope to be leaving great (haa thats a laugh) britain behind late november this year..
the picture here was of a full 2 inch system i made on the mandrel tube bender i had, with 4 exhausts 2 polished stainless and 2 coloured titanim, all made by me, cost him at the time about £1000.00 and a bleddy week solid to make... thats the kinda stuff you can expect, this was featured in streetfighters Uk, at the time massive spread.. take care. cheers Dave Gartland.. the man that can, or will at least try.

no it aint, cos i aint comin over as an exhaust manufacturer, i can take it or leave it, i got plenty of other stuff to do, i will be doing it part time IF I DECIDE TO DO IT,to keep the overheads and costs low so people can afford to buy, been there done all that, my trade is a sheet metal worker i already have several job offers and im a photogrpaher also, www.plymouthphotography.co.uk
and as for noise..
FEK it sounded like no other, if its an old gsxr 1100 with two exhausts, maybe, if the plastics are off, i have done similar on kawasaki zx9R . anything is possible...
im still pisd about the sales pitch comment !!!!

Well a while back they tried to ban ANY can without a correct manufacturers stamp on it (in queensland at least) effectively putting an end to the after market can industry. Lasted about 5 minutes. So now they can do you if they feel grumpy... but usually you only have a problem if they are targeting an area for hoons or if you do something stupid like a wheelie past them... but hey I still got off ;)

well good ol adelaide is where i'm at. boy oh boy there's gonna be more of you guys over in adelaide then there are of us over there. well, to borrow the words of a great ' i have a dream ' that dream is to have a stainless 4-2 exhaust using tapered muffs inspired a bit by the good ol triumph hurricane on my fighter blade. but its cool i'll give ya time for a cuppa and a scone before i come wrappin on your door. welcome aboard our island.

Daniel...
you have seen my cone silencer??? hell then i have some designs for you, tapered cones, triumph raygun style tripple outlets, cones with oval style ends, cones cones and more rudy cones... haaaaaaa..

back to the police thing, do you guys have MOT tests? i used to fit silencers with a bsau stamp, probably not relevant in Oz, but i never wrote anything on them, especially " not for road use "

It sounds like your cans are sweet sounding
but loud. Ever thought of making a removable
silencer to go in your cans?
You know, for rego n stuff?

karitsu
26-09-2008, 04:22 AM
yes i do that, as well as doctoring the baffle and a few other tricks to keep noise downish...

im busy sourcing suppliers, what do you guys go for
stainless steel - titanium -carbon fibre / kevlar or alloy?

oh yess, yess!! i'm ever developing though. nw i'd like to pay tribute to the orig honda four on my cbr900 bu putting twin tapered shiney shinies on either side. what do ya think i'd love to see pics of tapered pipes. but i'm certainly not setting anything in stone. i'll be glad to let your inspiration flow mate.

i'm not in the metal sort of trades so can't help on materials suppliers though sorry mate.

ooooohhh ellll !!! less than 2 weeks to go... and we will be in OZ... as for a workshop im not sure yet, I was kinda hoping to work from home, from experience why should i pay taxes on renting properties orkshops etc, when i can keep my prices low and pass that on to you guys. however i dont know what the rules are on that sort of thing, i will try and keep it as a sideline, i need a full time job first... and for the shot gun pipes in stainless steel, the last ones i did were £375.00. which i would guess around $700.00 ish..

cheers.... seen several choppers, harleys etc so far, but dont seem to be a lot of bikes around....? spoke to a couple of shops, the all say the same, importing exhausts is expensive, so anything that is made here is gonna be good... we are still at sellicks beach with riends, almost got the kids sorted with schools, i have a job for the time, just got to find a house to rent now..

hey karitsu, your going to be in my old neck of the woods, i just moved from woodcroft in july!! who did you speak to at Coast Yamaha? the guy you want to have a chat with is Mark he is the manager.

also try having a chat with the guys at redline exhaust, they are down at edwardstown and although they do exhaust repairs etc they dont do anything to the level which you produce. a couple other companies would be:

streetbike performance
Maximoto -motorcycle acc store- Hendrik the owner is from euro and is a made keen fighter fan
jap motorcycle dismantilers
show and go
adelaide motorcycle acces.

if you got any questions about places or info in general about SA dont hesitate to contact meand i will try and help out.

hi, yes we have just rented a property at sellicks beach, i am starting the ball rolling with some advertising cards, leaflets etc, so i am more than happy to meet up with anyone who can takes some cards etc and hand them out for me...

yes i will make everything, i will be a bit restricted until i can afford a mandrel tube bending machine, i have some awesome moto GP style tapered silencers im working on now, an absoloute first..

i notice some posters up about riding in february for mens health.. might be good to pay a visit.

i have not spoke to anyone in particular yet, except the guys at the moto place, down near everard park, took a card, and that was that...

i might have use of a unit at lonsdale, i could do with a lock up somewhere when my gear turns up...

any help would be appreciated,

and yes the redline guys , their name keeps popping up. my boss at rowlands sheetmetal knows him well, as do the guys at clemsmiths car sales, all gonna have a word, so they say...

i would like to know where to get exhaust packing, and perforated tube etc etc...

my mobile is 0450805778
