I needed a way of lifting my lathe and mill to move them around the shed.
I know other guys on here have machinery so thought I would share
I had seen a dude on YouTube who made skates and a toe jack so thought it couldn't be to hard

I got myself a 10ton bottle jack took some measurements and got some 10mm plate laser cut and busted out the welder and made the jack. The only thing I do that you can't see in the pick is add a piece of engineering plastic at the back of the toe cause the toe wants to flex back in to the jack so the polyethylene just stops it flexing as it get sandwiched between the jack and toe.

I used 4 plates to attach to the top of the jack
The top plate is just blank
The second plate has a hole in it to just clear the screw in plate on the top of the jack piston
The third and forth plate have a hole in then to just clear the piston diameter.

The plate at the bottom is screwed to the jack via 4 m10 c/s socket head cap screws

I used it today to lift my 3tonne cnc lathe and move it to position. It worked great.
If you want you can just lift off the toe and use it as a normal bottle jack .

I also made some load skates from some 150mm channel that I trimmed down. I milled some holes in it and added some m20 high tensile all thread some h/tensile flat washers and 8 off 6204 bearings on each skate.
Used them on my mill, manual lathe and cnc lathe

That's awesome, will keep that one in mind when I get some heavy stuff in to the shed at home.

Ha so you say mate. I know the real reason though is to be able to move my GSX around the next time it's over at your gaff LOL ;)
