Hey guys, I have a mate looking to buy some gixxer parts to finish an RG500 project. They sound like the sort of bits you lot might have gathering dust in the shed.

Here's what he's after -

I'm looking for a set of 1988/9 GSX-R750 wheels and cush-drive.
And possibly front forks and triples from the same bike.

These just happen to be the perfect size for an RG500 - 17x3.5 front and 17x4.5 rear, which allows me to run a 120/160 combo which is absolutely perfect, i.e. not too small and not too big.

The rolling diameters are reasonably similar too:
Front Rear
OEM 110/90/16 - 1898.8mm 120/90/17 - 2035.1mm
NEW 120/70/17 - 1884.3mm 160/60/17 - 1959.7mm

If anyone has a lead on a set of these wheels from an old dunger or wrecked or ex-race bike, please lemme know.
They don't have to look real great, as I'm just gonna powdercoat 'em black so they look similar to the OEM wheels, but they'd have to be in an otherwise reasonably straight and round condition.

Hey Whale, in the interest of high performanceness, you might want to consider a set of SV 650 wheels, they're the same 17x3.5 & 4.5", the front disc to disc, rear disc to sprocket distances & axle size & spacing are very similar to the old swept spoke Slingy wheels but the SV wheels are heaps lighter & we all know the best place to lose weight on a Motorcycle is from the wheels.

and that is why I love this site so much random but helpful knowledge kicking around
