View Full Version : FEBRUARY 2013 SFOTM (ASF Streetfighter of the month) - VOTE!

Gix11
01-02-2013, 01:39 PM
Welcome to the February 2013 ASF Streetfighter of the month poll.

This month we are featuring 4 closely matched bikes, all (not too surprisingly) Suzuki GSXR based; all very well put together; and all very, very tidy!

So please place one vote for the bike of your choice. The winner will be the bike with the most votes by the end of the month and will be entered into the Streetfighter of the year poll at the end of the year, plus be entered into next years ASF calendar (all going to plan) plus a few more features for the winning ASF member.

Are you voting for thebike or the builder? I like some bikes, I don'tcare if the builder is cashed up, skilled or an arse.

Just from memory (and mine is shit) these 4 are all built by there owners with little work farmed out, the cash outlay was most likely minor compared to the time sweat and blood spent putting them together.

People that ask me "How much did it cost?" first before "How long has that taken you ?" "Why did you do that this way?" etc etc shit me to the point of wanting to stomp em. Mind you i ride pieces of shit mostly, anything pritty got sold off long ago.

safighter

I agree Redmohawk ,I just want to stomp people who think I am a mind reader,I like all the bikes and appreciate the work put in,but I appreciate a guy who builds his own machine more than someone who drops it off with a load of cash ,just sayn,I dont know the background of these bike and was not sayn they did this ,sorry for any misunderstanding

So a Ducati Streetfighter would be a legitimate entry?

Aido
05-02-2013, 04:41 PM
I know this is in its infancy but can each photo become a hyperlink to a build thread if it is available?

Hillsy

Sure - it wouldn't get any votes though, so there's not much point throwing one in....

LOL,
No.
Not if we're voting on modified bikes.
.... although the one I go riding with would probably clean up most of the stuff on here.
Great bike, dumb name.

Interesting.
Makes me think.

If Ben built the ultimate Monster Nutter Streetfighter,
better than anything ever seen, and it was 100% my
ultimate dream bike, BUT he built it for a customer on
here, would anyone vote for it?

I probably would.

To me its less about the builder/owner/cost and more
about how disirable I find the finished product.

I may be alone here.

Well that actually worked mate! Only problem now is we still have missing photos due to the fact I cannot add any more photos to the old upload file. Unless Sen can find a solution, those topics could be annoying.

That's certainly part of the equation too.

Like I said earlier - I don't think it matters if it's a Ducati Streetfighter or a shed built slabby. The people who care enough to vote on here will know a factory bike v's a home built one and will vote accordingly.

One thing I've seen on another forum that might work in future is that someone ELSE has to nominate a members bike, and it has to be seconded by ANOTHER member to qualify as BOTM. Not sure if we have the numbers to make that work, but it seems like a pretty fair way to get your bike entered.

Members here usally have a build thread (part of the point of the site I thought) so does it really need to be that hard ? If we know the member and the bike we will know pritty much what has been "Built".

On a side note If Ben from Extreem did a Bought and payed for Build that ended up posted here in the fighter of the month thread and I liked it. I'd vote for Bens bike and expect ben to get the award, not the cashed up owner.

Yes it does, and most on here are,
but if a bike is pro built in part or full and I think
its a better bike I'd vote for it. To me I'm not patting
the builder on the back, be it Extreme Creations or a
Garden shed, I'm saying which bike I like.
3 of my favourite bikes on here are budget home builds
but I still judge on the finished product not its build.

Interesting though.

Mate - it's not that hard as far as I can see. Just throwing out some options if people start to get sand in their vaginas.

I actually cleaned up my photo bucket account and made it alot neater, this is why I think mine are missing.
Will see if I can sort it out.

Thanks a bunch guys. It was not an easy build or cheap for that matter. A lot of time has gone into it but all worth it in the end.

It was not all my own doing. Like all these builds of this size there was a lot of help from others
A big thanks to latheboy (Ivan) he did a lot of the machining for me and did a great job. Not to mention the use of a dyno dynsmics dyno for tuning. I am in much debt to you from this build alone.

Shano sorted out the wiring from scratch. So we went from nothing to a full loom including ecu loom with zero issues and all the smoke stayed in the wires

Gibbo sorted out the paint. Did a great job can't complain at all

Exben for helping me out with advice over the phone on a number of occasions

Booster for advice and tuning help
