View Full Version : FEBRUARY 2013 SFOTM (ASF Streetfighter of the month)

Gix11
22-01-2013, 04:13 PM
If you would like your bike to be entered in the Feb 2013 Streetfighter of the month poll, please add any photos below. We will choose 4 bikes for the month and try to make them on an even level of build cost or expertise. I your bike does not make it this month it may well roll into next months if the category suits more. The majority of enteries will determine the category list.

If that has confused you, ask away....

have to... my shit fighter...
$1650 to buy, fix (includeing the zip tie's to hold body work on as well as horn etc), tyres (sinko 003 f, super corser R) rego and insurance all in
sell plastics for $250 so a total of $1400 for a bike that i have ridden into the ground, ride every other day and really just reminds me to the shit things for bikes I had as a boy with out a care in the world.

head light sv650 $50 (old one I had for mock up on other projects)
scrap s/s head light braket with machined mounts tig welded together on a jig made out old copper tube on bike

http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n493/ozzy1100/lyntonsiphone140.jpg

mounted on the stad front plastics mount on the seam

http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n493/ozzy1100/lyntonsiphone143.jpg

old stoner mate I know that lives in the fucking hills rode it to my place for the $400. The rear brakes where that bad the piston was into the disk and couldnt be removed, solved with the back half of the 1100 set I had off parts bits. The front disk warped so bad that whole bike shuddered when used etc you get the idea

http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n493/ozzy1100/lyntonsiphone005-1.jpg

please note this isnt a streetfighter as one man pionted out to me at one time, its just a naked bike and that he will be getting his ktm streetfighter one day....this my friends is a true story.
On a few levels he really didnt know what the fuck he was talking about and I asked him to lick my balls :-)

What difference should it make if you built it with your own hands and mind?
Its Fighter of the month not currently owned fighter of the month.

Yeah, I wasnt sure what it was aimed at, current / old / past / right now ?

There's a thread on another forum thats similar,
but all pics for that months vote should be taken during that month.
Its aimed at getting folk to get off their arse and go out and take / post new pics.
Not saying its right or wrong, but it stops 20 re-posts of old pics of past bikes.
Im happy either way. All good.

You can't enter a bike/car show with a pic of a vehicle that you used to own......

I had a full custom frame FJ1200 in 1996............can I enter that this month ????

if it's a picture show then gitzy will win every month with the amount of pics he's got.
If it's for bikes you've built, but don't own, can ben enter the ones he's built?

I agree, most other sites that do it have the rules being a bike you have built and currently own

I like the idea that pics taken in Jan go into that months comp.
That involves having to get off your arse and do something
not just loading old photo's over again. Id personally rather see
pics of half built projects on the bench than "here's the one I
used to own that you've all seen". Every new month means new
pics to see and new pics to take.

Only my ramblings from my little world.

As previously posted by Sharky, Hooligan and Tony etc, it definitely should be your current bike, as in the one you own / building right now.

Well this will be a short lived comp.

Not really, there are already enough currently owned bikes entered to cover the comp for the next three to four months.. Plus I know of a few other builders watching quietly. I would love to see a month where say for example a few TL1000s are put up against each other? Another month of turbo-ed bikes etc

Short lived ? Why ?

Anyone who owns a bike, finished of not, show winner or
basic, drag style or stunt bike, your ride to work bike,
The pile of bits your putting together! Take a pic of what
you've got, next month you get another crack at it.

It's not complicated, its a proven formula that works.

Now this is my fault as I didn't stipulate any rules to the submissions, for the simple reason I didn't think there would be any issues. How could this possibly go wrong? Well, looks like I found out. So, based on a democratic decision judging by the posts above, I think that I now have to stipulate the following rules:

The photo must be of your currently owned motorcycle
Owned by you at the date of submission of the photo (a bike sale should not be affected by the running of this vote)
The motorcycle can be built / modified by yourself or a professional BUT must have at least some input by yourself into the build (i.e. you didn't buy the bike EXACTLY as it is and have just polished it.)

As of next month maybe we should introduce the "Photo should be taken during the month of nomination / submission to get people off their arses and into the shed etc.

If anybody is offended or upset by these new rulings:
a. get a grip
b. get off your arse
c. stop crying

...and with that, I will create a new topic for this months poll.

P.S. The winner of each month will be awarded the bragging rights of being the first photo on the main banner of the forum, plus, if they will get STREETFIGHTER OF THE MONTH under their forum username in each post, plus they will go into the Streetfighter of the Year poll at the end of the year, PLUS they will be entered into the month they win for the ASF Calendar next year (if all goes to plan).
