Northside.

Some OK places on the Southside,
I've lived at Carina and Bay Side but now I'm over
on the Northside. Inner suburbs are predictively expensive,
just stay away from the new housing estates like North Lakes.
(and personally I'd give Caboolture a miss)

Buying or renting ?
Kids or dogs ?
Want a little unit? Acreage?
Near city/motorway/school/airport/????

West side all the way bitch's .... Word

Russ and I both live on the Northside.
Both been in Brissy a while and tried different area's.
If you get serious about anything in particular shout out
and you will get the good and bad points

As you go North from the city it gets a little cheaper, bigger blocks
but it can be a real shit if you have to commute. Gympie Rd,
Sandgate Rd and even the Gareway clog up on an evening.

I like it heading West, places like Bunya and The Gap but again
if you work city hours traffic will give you the shits.

I used to live on the Southside ( Bayside ) it's mixed,
Bit posh and working class area's. From canal side $1m houses
to a bit rough and ready Capalaba, but I'd be happy to move
back to Bayside.

Bayside has easy access to the motorway and airport
and has the closest acreage blocks to the city.

i would be leaning towards the bayside... its a great location i live on the coast and the coast hinterland is the business... brisbane i find isnt as class segregated as melbourne or sydney especially. You say rule out logan yes theres some shit areas but theres also some very nice areas the basic rule is east of the highway nice, chatswood hills, daisy hill, rochedale, springwood loganholme, west of the highway full of the bottom of the gene pool. I dont think it matters where you live up here though theres shit in every suburb somewhere

as for work, we now have the second highest unemployment rate in the country right behind tasmania
theres plenty of contractors coming back to town from the mines, its certainly slow up here, but if your handy and willing theres always work somewhere

\good luck with the move

Lived North and South of the river. Have to say Northside is the go. An occasional shitty area up here but most suburbs are ok. I like this area as its close to Mount Mee and Sunshine Coast but only 40 minutes to the airport and city.

I live in loganlea and it's awesomer than anywhere else. You can get anywhere in 20-40 minutes including goldy, brissy and most importantly WILLOWBANK/QR!!!! Heaps to do around, there's hyperdome with movies and nice restaurants etc, Kingston park raceway if you like go-karts, we have moss street for all your bike/car needs, rent is cheap, there are pubs of varying clientele so you can be as classy or as bogan as you like.

lol loganlea is still to far from willowbank lol

Kedron.

Close enough to the City / Valley / Southbank / Show grounds
to get a cheap cab home. No traffic lights between my house and
the airport / Gold Coast / Motorway North with the nice new tunnel.
Less crime and hoons than many area's.
Couple of good Private schools in walking distance.
Easy access to Samford Valley and on to Mt Glorious, Mt Mee,
Mt Nebo and some other great rides.
Huge shopping centre 10 minutes drive at Chermside but not
close enough to be effected by it otherwise.
Older established area not a new Lego land estate.

# ... and it's handy for both Mono and Micks tyre shops.

## ... and it doesnt flood.

( although I still have to drive to Birkdale to get a decent Balti )

Fuck that's gold tony, he must have been on the back wheel to ge up there........

Well I'm here! What a drive the first few hours out of Sydney were beautiful, I'd love to have been on a bike.

But no I was in a falcon pulling 2+ ton in an unbraked single axle trailer......... I actually wouldn't have known the trailer was there if it wasn't for my lack of breaking ability! Hence my now warped front rotors thanks to dick head Sydney drivers cutting in front of me.
Oh and my 20L per 100 KM fuel economy.

I'm staying in Springfield for a few days while I go to job interviews but have just put in an application for a rental in Ormeau
It's a nice place close enough to the city and to the goldy for weekend family fun and it has a FUCKEN GARAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats because theyre all on the run from the cops in Un Zud cuz. East coast is for the small time crims and WA for the bad uns. Its too far to get sent back if ya live in Perth. Well thats what one of my kiwi mates from Gisbon reckoned.
