To be honest, I havent used them in years,
or in anything sticky or sporty.

I stick to what I know, Qualifiers, Powers, now Sportsmarts.

If they got a good enough review from the press and riders
I know and ride with, and the price was right, then I may be
tempted to try them.

i have used conti tyres for the past 7 years (road attack, race attack and contiforce supermoto) and love them. will not use anything else on my bikes and even convinced my brother who for the past 4 years swapped to them.
Price seems fine for a sport touring tyre and at 399 for a pair i would pay that as conti's have always seemed to be a bit on the pricey side compared to most tyres.

On another note just curious how much the 240/40/18 custom tyre goes for as i will be chasing one in the near future for the blade

i have had a set years ago and back then they were ok so i would be happy to give a modern set a crack

i would try them if you recommended them Nigel and i know you wouldnt do that without running them yourself

Price for a good tyre doesnt matter does it as a shit tire could cost your life

I have used 1 conti rear but it wasn't a real good test as the suspension was off and killed it in 3 sessions.
I would give them a run if given a good recomendation from a reliable source :)
Price sounds good

Fitting is the only issue for me in NSW

They'd need to be good to come in at $399
to compete with current tyre prices.

They look good if that counts for anything

How do they compare to Bridgestone 003
My understanding is the Conti Motion are more sport tourer than super sticky dickhead tyre than I normally purchase

for sport tyres the current competition would be something like this,
http://www.mcas.com.au/_product.php?section=1&prodid=9440

$340 would undercut the known quantity of these (have used them before with good results) enough to sway me i think

Having paid $520 for a pair of Metzelers a few months ago I'd be happy to pay this price for Contis. I've used Continentals on two of my bikes in the past and was quite happy with them, good turn in, sticky enough and lasted as well as the competition. What more could you want?

Continental Road Attacks, Sport Attacks, Contiforce Supermoto are all great tyres but today I am just focusing on the Conti Motions.

The Conti Motions are targeted at the budget touring/sport market.

These tyres aren't aimed at heading to the track. Their uses include heavy bikes, long trips and are a great tyre for those day to day commutes.

The Conti Motions aren't a dickhead tyre (Yella LOL) there are many other tyres for this which I will go into another day. BTW the 003 Bridgestone are at the other end of the scale.

Also I haven't ridden on these tyres so I can't give you a personal rating, only the manufacturer's spiel which is on Motorcycle Tyre Warehouse's Ebay ad.

Their rivals include Pirelli Strada, Dunlop GPR200, Michelin Pilot Road (original not 2 or 3 they are dual compound) and Shinko Raven 009 (which I have ridden on and would use again).

To all ASF members, if you are willing to give the Conti Motions a try, feel free to PM me a genuine offer for consideration. This offer expires with this Quiz (8pm tonight).

P.S. The odds are great for a free tyre gauge at this stage

IF I didnt require "Dickhead Spec Tyres" (Pissa Yella) i would definitely look at a set of these. My previous commuter bike had a set of Conti's on it and I could not fault them for day 2 day useage.

I think I paid that for my last set of bridgestone tyres, I did get a good deal on them though. I reckon $349 - $399 is probably reasonable asking price for a retailer.

I think under $400 for a pair of decent tyres is a good price, not for me though, like some of teh other guys I prefer to buy dickhead spec tyres.
I use conti SM tyres on mt KTM 640 motard and love 'em.
