Hey All,
looking for a show of interest from the NSW riders based around the Sydney, New Castle, Gosford, Canberra and Wollongong areas (Also any other areas I can't think off) for a monthly ride/ get together/ piss up. The reason I'm thinking of this is as many rides are cancelled due to guys pulling out at last minute as they haven't had time to sufficiently plan for the ride as they have already made other plans or their bike is not up to scratch.

All I am suggesting is one ride per month on either a Sunday or Saturday, that way everyone has roughly a month to organise the time and their bikes so they can make it for hopefully an excellent day of riding and then maybe followed by a BBQ and a few beers.

There are Some excellent areas perfect for riding around Sydney from the top of my head a few are Put Put Road, National Park, Old Road etc etc.

I will be really keen to hear everyones suggestions on this idea which I know has been raised once or twice before, and I have thick skin so feel free to pull the piss out of this Post, my bike, my inability to make it the the 08 Fools Run etc etc.
cheers Rod

Is that 3 weeks on 4 weeks off? Or is it broken up differently? Just asking for future reference mate, I'm determined to make this work for every one, I have worked 10/14 shifts before so I am used to trying to forcast for the future.

FUGGEN OATH! [^]

I'm running an FJ11 at the moment Turbo[:I]. Don't worry I still have the GPz, but it's gearbox needs a rebuild, and this one doesn't. Plus I'm surprised at the grunt of this thing, it's pretty good.

Say it with me... Tuning Forks are for pianos.

Fatgit
30-04-2008, 11:16 AM
OK [V]

Tuning forks are for Pianos.

But honestly Turbo, the motor in this thing is much better than I expected. And once the fairing is gone it'll actually make a decent looking fighter. I'll try and see if my ZX 6" rear wheel (and maybe a GPz swinger if needed) will fit it this weekend (assuming my lathe turns up), so it'll get some Kwaka bits to upgrade it

Anyone know what rear shock would fit an FJ11? Something with 3-4 cm's extra length over standard.

30-04-2008, 02:14 PM
sharkys doin a lot with FJ s at the mo chalkie hed probably know..see ya in a few weeks mate ill get yer cage ready

Fatgit
30-04-2008, 02:44 PM
Yeah, sharky's already come through with the goods on brakes.

Tell ya what mate, chasing down a bottle of Talliskers is turning out to be more difficult than finding someone to sleep with me (ie fuggen impossible). Can you get it up your way (PS we're not cracking it till everybopdy else has crashed so shhhhh don't tell)

Ok, I've been watching this thread in envy and with my fingers crossed, hoping my bike would pass rego in time for this ride.

The bike got the OK from the RTA today and I feel I can now officially consider myself a fully-fledged member. :D

I can't stay the night but I'm gonna try and wrangle 4 hours or so from the cook to partake in this ride. It's all gonna be new to me.

If you guys can put together a good day loop (the last one looks good to me), I'm with yuz for a few hours at least.

Like I said before looks good to me,[8D] be mad not to use your recomendations as you and Weasel have ridden these roads lately.

Good to hear your coming Bear. Any chance you can wine and dine your Lady this week-end in order to manage a night with the boys?

the wisemans ferry rd will test ur skills then its up to mangrove mountain where weve got about 10ks of 100kph blastin road .and then a little bit of the pac highway [ its usually crawlin with the local old bill so take it easy and its got a 60kph limit ] stop at the road warriors for a quick bev
back up the pac highway to somersby then we head down woy woy rd 80kph with a few tight hairpins and a steep drop to the town ..thru the penisular along empire bay rd 70/60kph swing up thru cullens rd toward copacabana in to the posh bit of avoca beach where theres a few pukka establishments to eat and veiw the local surfies tryin to pull birds ..then its back to my gaff [after the wifes picked up my little un and buggered off ] to eat drink and be merry

YEP well i reckon we should be able to do it in about 4.5 hours easily takin time to refresh ourselves [the only prob ive got is shell dont get back from work till about 5 and my little fella will go nuclear if he sees all these bikes and has to leave ]so we have to stay out until the coast is clear ..about 5.30ish but theres plenty of hostelries to hide out in close by till then , then we can dive into my place someone can man the barbie[no not the doll] while a couple of us go on a beer run.
