Ive heard of people shopping around to get best item for their money... but I think some people take it too far... Ive got my bike there for $3500 which is a great price for what it is but people seem to want a house included for that price it seems....

Good luck with the sale Oz...

would this kick serious ass in my kat?

might have to make an offer i think...

21-09-2007, 12:12 PM
They look fucking hot in Kats Fimp. Clean up the profile no end, and you don't have to worry about scraping your way through the engine covers when cornering. And a decent power boost over a stock GSX engione.
I'd definitely suggest it. Old Skool have a couple of Kats with GSXR engines on the site.

crap, its standard...
sorry, thought u had bored it out :(

still, how does it compare to a (probably) standard-ish 1100 katana motor?

21-09-2007, 12:32 PM
Uuuum "Decent power boost over a stock GSX engine"

You're quick aren't ya Fump.

Kat11 = ~111 hp at crank new
GSXR11 = ~ 130-140 hp at crank new.

If you want a quick boost to your Kat11 output get a set of cams from an EFE motor, they're equivalent to stage 1 race cams for the Kat motor and they bolt straight in. And the EFE motor (1135cc's standard) will bolt straight into your frame. The EFE produced 126 hp stock (85' - 86' model, 84' produced 118 hp, the only difference being a 3 face cut on the valves rather than 2 as far as I know).

I rang a few bike wreckers up here just to get a price on what the going rate is on a GSXR11 oilcooled motor no one had any but they said they can get $2500 for them no worries. If anyone is interested pm me an offer you may be suprised how cheap you can get it. I also have a set of carbs to suit. I even know a nice truck driver that will proberly be able to deliver it to Newcastle. Other than that it goes on ebay soon.

All GSX's (79' - 86') are 4 valve. and highly interchangable on parts.
Mundy recently fitted a GSXR11 head to a GSX11 motor as well.

I've got the Haynes manual here covering off on all GSX11's, plus the factory for the 1150 if you wanna grab it on your way to/from GP.

And stop snivellng girly boy

They've got a thread somewhere on it, which discuss' the particular models, OzKat may know more, I have hardly been on the site since finding this place.

And FFS ALL GSX's ARE 16 VALVE, it's the biggest differentiator between them and the earlier GS1000's (think GS1000s)

You passing this way to/from the GP?

21-09-2007, 03:40 PM
I didn't realise that your Kat had a Gixxer motor Large

Wouldn't have thought so that way you were dawdling into that little town on the way to the ASF :D

PS Fump, there's your engine plates, not far from you at all. Out with your crayons and off to Large's place.

fuck that, he can draw em for me :)

i might just wait til someone crashes a new '08 busa and put one of those engines in :D

21-09-2007, 03:53 PM
Just chuck an EFE top end (Barrels up) onto yours and you'll be wearing a big enough grin, I guarantee it.

21-09-2007, 03:55 PM
but it wouldnt have 180bhp...

21-09-2007, 03:59 PM
The Yoshimura 1132 Kats produce 150, and you could get it done a lot faster/cheaper = more ride time

Plus where are you gonna put the radiators for the Busa lump? They'll make your Kat look like a fat pig at the front.

Still getting front end wiggles at speed are you? Sorry to tell you mate but there's no way to get it 100% without writing huge cheques to Spondon.

Did you know that the EFE mono shock rear end graft onto those real easy.

Yeah I have priced them at wreckers, but then Oz is not a wrecking business with the overheads incurred when running a business, I am not saying the thing was over priced or that Ozkat was trying to stitch anyone up but I have just picked up a complete damaged gsxr1100 for $1000, now that is cheap, I know another bloke that picked up a b1200 for approx $2000, thats cheap, sorry if I upset you delicate chaps. Besides Oz should thank me, this topic was pretty idle before I posted up. Congrats to both parties, looking forward to seeing it put to good use.

No worries Gibbo, i know what you were geting at. I was just trying to get the best price i could as my overheads are a turbo nitrous dragbike. Im very happy with the deal me and Watto made, i even gave him some other stuff for free. Im moving house next weekend and i have to go through a shit load of stuff ive collected over the last 5 years. Lots of GSXR, GSX, a little yamaha and kawasaki stuff, 90% will be free just postage costs. Ive just gotta get rid of stuff i will never use.
