Would you be able to give me a rough quote on the postage to 3672?

I'll have to find a courier company and see what they say mate. Leave it with me.

How'd you go with the postage quote Si?

What I learnt are courier companies suck some serious arse mate. I've been ringing around all morning and nobody wants to touch it. I eventually got a quote from a local mob and they want $99. If anyone else can suggest someone that might be cheaper, fire away.

Maybe try Greyhound Freight (old Bus Freight Australia). 1300 656 532. I think they have a depot on GC. A few months ago I sent a guitar with them from Bris to Syd for $25. Got here no probs.

Cheers Hillsy. Just tried them. They want $16 from Gold Coast to nearest depot, $59 on to Melbourne and then $32 on to 3672. So $107 all up. Pretty close to the first estimate.

Jeez....maybe post em?? Just has to be under 1.05m

Is that right? They are 1m by about 400mm˛ when packed together and I thought that would be either too big or that around 8kg would be too heavy for Aus post. Can any Aus Post members fill in the blanks?

I have posted pipes around australia Si, Usually about 40 bucks, pack em seperate and all be good. They pretty strict on the 1 metre rule tho.I guess it may dangle in the spokes of the powerhouse hondas...

I posted the seat, tail plastics, tail light, grab rail and part of the subframe off the GS to Tone in NSW all in one box for about $45 through Australia post.

Aus Post can take up to 22KG. 1.05m max length is because they put them in wire cages (which are 1.2m wide) to truck linehaul. I've sent a fair bit of fairing bits I've sold on EBAY via Post and it's been OK. Get Registered Post though (an extra $2 or $3).

Ok, I'll dummy pack them this weekend and find out when I take it to Aus Post on Monday.

And Si , I have learnt from a recent experience dont make them into a rectangle shape or anything that they are able to work out a cubed weight, cause thats where they fuck yah try and make it as obscure as possible within the relevent sizings

Another valuable tip I learnt from experience is don't take anything big to a small local Post Office, they hafta put all their parcels in one of those white Aust. Post calico bags. Go to one of the major Delivery Centres where they're less fussed about larger parcels, pick the ugliest/fattest/oldest bird there & lay that smooooth Gix 11 charm on her - she'll be so flattered that she'll forget all about the maximum post package size & be mezmerised by the Gix package size. ;)

Take a spare pair of socks if you need to. :D

No need for the socks mate, and stop sending me your undies.

I only use the main sorting office anyway.

Right, ugly old bag, look out.

Clint. Aus Post shone through and they gave me a respectable quote of $30.15 for regular post or $82.90 for Express. Still interested?
