Your right jim
and when the sssa is on he is going to go for an underseat
or under the engine system.
also the swinger is a little longer so it should line up
with the back of the tail.griff is about 6ft4 and he needs
a big seat or he can't ride it.

And i thought it was just your quality photographic skill at choppin the heads off in pictures. He should be called HI-TOWER not Griff :D

This is the wheel he is going run exile
and its a vrf750 arm he is using, thought they were longer that the standard blade swinger?

exile
13-07-2007, 07:59 AM
Me likes that wheel alot ;) car wheel aint it ??? The VFR arm does look longer than the Blade, i know when they're fitted into Gixers n Bandits it reduces the wheelbase shitloads and has a tendancy for prolonging the front wheel tread :D:D

catchmeifyoucan
13-07-2007, 05:35 PM
really like the wheel you got there MC, looks horn... griffs bike will look sweet once it's painted...

Gix11
13-07-2007, 07:29 PM
What's he going to match that wheel with on the front? I really liked that wheel as well but couldn't think for the life of me what would match it at the front nicely.

hi gix11,i will keep the 929 front wheel, but i will powdercoat it chrome

damo1
15-07-2007, 03:43 PM
That wheel is the fuckin shit mate i would have loved one like that when i was lookin very tasty.[:p]

Right whats the deal with the 929 front [?]bolt straight in job[?]

Exile whats the deal with every body thinkin that the sssa changes the wheel base its exactly the same if you use a 00mod on 800 arm( it is anyway) and i know this because i was worried that it was going to be longer and me and Exben measured it and its exactly the same from center of swing arm bolt to center of the rear wheel.

FIGHTERMC
17-07-2007, 02:03 AM
Damo the 929 is a straight bolt on mate

19-07-2007, 11:37 PM
hi damo,ya the 929 bolts straight in,but if you get one, don't use the tapered bearings, makes the bike turn too quick, use the origional head stock bearings.much better than the std forks

shift1313
20-07-2007, 09:10 AM
the orig headstock bearings arent tapered? i dont think ive ever seen a headset bearing that wasnt tapered, odd.

What are the specs on that wheel? I'm in the process of a single sided conversion on my blade and I'm still looking for the right wheel. I'm told a 17 x 7 rim with 38mm to 40mm offset and a 25mm spacer will do the trick.

The 929 front end is sweet, too bad I just spent a bunch of money to rebuild and respring my convertional forks.. Oh well, my LSL top clamp will still look good and the Race Tech springs should help up front too.

Gix11

If you're using a Honda swingarm (VFR) look at wheels that will fit a Honda car as they are the same stud pattern.

damo1
27-07-2007, 04:04 PM
Its not just honda cars(sorry Si) its any wheel that has a stud pattern of

4x100mm stud centers

Yeah, I got that part but that's not really what I was asking.. Honestly, the lug pattern shouldn't matter since I can buy a spacer with any lug pattern I need. I really just wanted to verify the other info I asked about for clearance issues.

damo1
28-07-2007, 07:32 AM
The lug pattern (if you mean the wheel studs)does matter because your just getting longer studs and the spacer and the wheel bolt on to the same place.

Go back and have ANOTHER look at my thread when i put the arm in mine smokey your asking all the same questions over and over just to different people.

Bite the bullet mate and get it under way it will probly make more sence as your doing it you cant just get all the bits of info and expect it to bolt straight in mate there is going to be some fucking around.

I can buy a spacer to fit the 4 x 100 lugs that will have any lug pattern I want. I'm not sure what your talking about. The spacer has it's own lug studs and mounts using the existing studs. I know for a fact that others have used a 5 lug wheel with no problems..

All I was asking was what the offset of the wheel pictured was and what size spacer was used? "I'm told a 17 x 7 rim with 38mm to 40mm offset and a 25mm spacer will do the trick" I got this info from a reliable source but I keep seeing mixed info.. The swing arm is alrady mounted, I'm just trying to find a wheel I like and confirm what does and doesn't work. No big deal..

The wheel i used had a 43mm offset we put the arm in and then put the wheel on with a spacer that we thuoght would be close first to get the wheel to line up with the frame (bolt the wheel on and then run a straght edge off either side of the wheel so it lines up to the frame) the same on both sides then get that mesurment off the frame to work out exactly what the spacer should be.

If theres any questions ask exben im sure he'll be happy to help he did mine.

Is your arma 750 or 800[?]

All the mesurments will very slightly from bike to bike so make the spacer to fit ytour bike and your bike only.

Im not sure about the 750 arm that Fighter & Griff have used but the 800 arm that i used is exactually the same length as the stock blade they were both measured side by side when i did my mod and from center of the swing arm bolt to center of the axle spot on.

05-08-2007, 04:13 AM
hi damo, the 750 arm is longer, but not sure how much, but i find it handles fine, even with a car wheel on it.....

Thats a tough call mate i suppose what ever you really want your the one who going to have to live with it.

Best bet is to head to a smash shop and go through there paint books and see what you like.

Try go for something totally different and just remember colours always look heaps better on bikes mate and also if you find something close but not quite there you can always tint it to exactly what you want.;)

Theres heaps of choices out there mate good luck and looking forward to seeing the end product.
