and Evad your bike is on the page. :D

Laverda site link....http://www.clublaverdaqld.org/concours.html

08-05-2007, 06:37 PM
when is it?

08-05-2007, 06:38 PM
whoop, just checked the laverda site, Sun 15 July. Looks good, i'll probably rock up for a look. Doesn't seem to be too many modern sports bikes of any kind in last years pics though? (except said stratched katana)

08-05-2007, 08:12 PM
hay des, thats sid young's site he is in the z owners club as well. :D:D[8D][8D]
Yep I always go along, ozkat and tony nitrous had their bikes on the dyno last year.

08-05-2007, 10:02 PM
If you look closely you will see Tony and Shayne on the same page as well.

There was talk of an ASF stand there this year. Hillsy put the proposition forward. I have UK in the way at the moment but if this helps:

"There's 2 areas at the park - the "trade" area (which is predominantly for shops, etc). To set up a stall here it is $150.

The second area is towards the back of the park and is where the clubs can set up a marquee - this is free. The guy asked me if we would be selling stuff and I said probably some t-shirts, caps etc - he said that would be OK in the club area (as long as we don't bring truckloads of merch).

There is no on-site power, so we'd need a generator if we wanted that, also he suggested a 3m x 3m marquee and about 6 or so bikes (not too many).

So all we'd need is a marquee, table, banners, merch and some bikes / members and we'd have a streetfighter stall. Could be a good "warm-up" for Gold Coast??

I'm happy to help further here - will bring the bike, etc. Contact at Club Laverda is Alan Johnstone 0401 980 369.

Let me know what you think"

and you think you can establish some kind of group and booking, go ahead and I'll get the rest sorted when I get back.

08-05-2007, 11:19 PM
I dont reckon I'll make it - I'll be fighting again this year at the Annual Abbey Tournament. Shameless plug...

09-05-2007, 10:52 AM
Do you own some kind of time machine as well Pete?

09-05-2007, 12:24 PM

25-06-2007, 08:25 AM
Shit, forgot about this one. Are we still going to do a stand? Who was it that got the ball rolling? Hillsy wasn't it?

Stu, can I have the banner back!

25-06-2007, 08:33 AM
Im gonna try get my bike finished by this one Si and also try get the day off work. Would you like my bike on the ASF display?

25-06-2007, 08:34 AM
Yea mate, that'd be good. I best get the actual stand sorted first though!

27-06-2007, 02:09 PM
Ok Ladies. I have spoken to the Laverda Club organisers and they said we have a limit of 10 bikes and they ask for a gold coin donation to the charity that I have forgotten. Well at the moment I have Hillsy & Jarrod who said they'd be keen to bring thier bikes, plus I'll get mine sorted, so do I have any other takers for the day, To show their bikes and to hover around the stand and answer any questions / sell gear etc should random geezers walk over?

27-06-2007, 03:28 PM
Gix as per my last post - I'll only have a shiny new VTR1000 available for the show so probably not that suitable - unless of course the public want to see a fighter in progress ;) but I can wear my shirt and hang around the stand for a couple hours to do some greeting and meeting.

27-06-2007, 07:30 PM
I will be there with the 1400 but dont know if im entering the show (hoping for a trophy) or blinging up the ASF stand. Will know in the next week or so.

27-06-2007, 07:44 PM
hey Zx dont worry about the bike, we need you on the stand in your tinman outfit ;););););)

27-06-2007, 07:59 PM
I can come if your interested....the bikes up and running now with the new Nitrous system fitted

27-06-2007, 08:55 PM
Nice one Gary. Would be good to have your bike there as well mate.

27-06-2007, 10:41 PM
ok - been looking at the 12r for a bit now... part of the plan was to get a new exhaust - prob is the current one cost me 1200 bucks and I dont want to just chuck it away so thinking that I may change my plans slightly again... shit I'm worse then a woman.

Long story short - the 12r might be able to be there if its wanted :)

27-06-2007, 11:02 PM
Good news.... Got the day off so I will be bringing the "Mongrel" to the Show (as long as its finished).

Impressive list of bikes attending:

Si - Degenerate
Gary - Nitrous FZR1000 Streetfighter
Pete - ZX12R Streetfighter
jarrod - Mongrel
Hillsy - ZX9

2 x Kwakas, 2 x Suzukis and a Yami.. nice

28-06-2007, 10:59 AM

28-06-2007, 12:36 PM
Yea Pete, bring her along. Cheers.

06-07-2007, 07:45 PM
what time are you going to be there

07-07-2007, 12:35 AM
Fuck I hope my rear cowl arrives before friday otherwise Im gonna be fucken pissed off... If I dont have the cowl, theres gonna be one big hole where rear seat is which wont be worth while showing if it looks half complete hey.... Crosses fingers...

07-07-2007, 06:17 AM
If there is room on the ASF stand for the 1400 Si, i will be there.

07-07-2007, 01:49 PM
Course there is mate. Bring it along. I'm still waiting on the banner from Stu which would make things a bit better on the day.

As for what time to enter, well, I rang the Laverda guys and they said just turn up on the day, but being my usuual self I forgot to ask what time. I'd be guessing around 8-9. I'l give them a call and find out.

08-07-2007, 08:30 PM
I will be thre for a look, does anyone know if they have a dyno again this year? It was for sale last i saw...

08-07-2007, 10:08 PM
Will be there with the ZX9 no worries. How did the chain-mail jousting convention go there today Pete??

08-07-2007, 10:27 PM
Nah couldn't go in the end mate - too busy working - doing thesis and getting the girl ready for next weekend - she's almost presentable Si - just a bit more cleaning up to go :D

10-07-2007, 01:34 PM
OK, just spoke with Alan at the Laverda Club and he says stands get set up around 7:30 - 8:00, so that's when I'll try and be there for. I'll meet you boys down there.

The banner went via courier this morning to the address you mumbled into my voicemail yesterday, Si..... Let me know when you get it.

(I only dicked it a little, so it should be reasonably safe :D )

11-07-2007, 06:59 PM
Will be there at 7.30 [8D]

12-07-2007, 05:53 PM
I'll be there about 7:30,
will we be able to put our gear anywhere.....heated thermals, woolly jumpers, thermal socks.....blah.blah.blah

13-07-2007, 01:08 PM
Yea, in the ASF stand mate.

14-07-2007, 12:48 PM
Will definitely be there, just wont be riding the bike to the show. Picked it up this morning after the mechanics were going till 7pm last night to get it ready and went to ride off this morning and it seems to die in the arse after 3500 or so... seems to gag a bit so it goes back in on Monday.

Needless to say that I will be trailering it to the show.

Heard a rumour that coppers like to hang around ouside the event and book people for rwc violations eg no hugger, no fender etc. Anyone been there before and were the cops doing this then?

I dont have any mirrors on the bike yet nor a hugger so its probably best I dont ride it there if they do infringe people for this crap.

See you guys tomorrow.

14-07-2007, 01:49 PM
Ive been to teh last 4 or 5 and have never seen that happening before.See you guys there tomorrow :D:D

15-07-2007, 08:28 PM
Good to meet some of you guys and putting faces to names (usernames!). Thanks Si for getting the stand happening - I think we had the most interesting one there as far as Joe Public was concerned [:0]

....oh, maybe except for the nutter with the RD700LC......[?]

Thanks Evad for the TREX pic ;)

15-07-2007, 09:09 PM
Good day - great to catch up with you guys - some for the first time.

The only thing the photos don't show is the graduation change in colour of my face from white to beetroot. Just showing my european heritage I guess :D

16-07-2007, 01:20 PM
Nice photos guys, cheers. I forgot my camera as the brain doesn't work at 5am. I see you managed to catch the elusive Papa Smurf in the first photo Des? Good work.

I'd just like to thank everyone that made the effort to bring their bikes along and help out, there woudn't have been much of a stand without you.

Big thanks to Jarrod and Pete who seem to be the marketing gurus of ASF, massive thanks to Supercharger Mark for getting up in the middle of the night and freezing his balls off with me on the ride to Brisbane at 6 in the morning and helping to set up. (By the way, why is it whenever you and Beaver get together in the ASF tent there's always a waft of home grown in the air?)

Can't believe you weren't going to bring the Zed in Dave, glad you did in the end and cheers with packing up mate.

I think Gary's bike got the most photos taken with the NOS on it, cheers for bringing that as well mate.

Cheers to Zedsled, that Z1000 is great mate, can't wait to see the real deal when you get it sorted (by the way, your a Full Member as well now mate), and also Hillsy for bringing the green machine (that thing must have taken hours to vinyl up like that mate?)

.....and last but not least, Des and Kaye for bringing the Bling Machine - it got as many photos as Gary's and Des, you should be getting commission from Stu as you managed to sell about 3 rego holders, a set of mirrors and other various goodies - while YOU were at the pub!

Good to meet Pommy Chooper and Sonic Bird (get that fighter sorted mate) and also Matt, Papa Smurf, Buster, the mad man who met Davo the night before in the pub and was advised that we filled our frames with helium by Davo........ and anyone else I've forgotten.

16-07-2007, 03:28 PM
Thanks Si for getting the Streetfighter scene out into the public eye, and i might be bias, but the ASF site was the most interesting stand there.
I was waiting for someone to notice my mirror finish polished alloy rego holder and i was at the pub :(

16-07-2007, 04:06 PM
Yeah dont forget Jason - oldskool Z's rock - love your orange 1000 mate.

Des I think that old fella was a bit of a fan - glad we could hook you and him up to talk exhausts [:p]

Thanks for making the day possible Si and everyone else.

16-07-2007, 04:19 PM
Yeah thanks Pete, your a real mate for warning me about the old guy. [:0] ;)

16-07-2007, 05:01 PM
I have got to admit it was a pretty interesting day, meeting all of you guys and talking to people with a real passion about streetfighters.
i think i need to loose a few kilos before the goldcoast run, i look pregnant in the photos...
thanks to jarrod....now i have got to get a new number plate, nos!!!

cheers Gary

16-07-2007, 05:35 PM
Oh, I forgot to mention. Puppet was there as well with some young man and an industrial tub of vasoline, said he couldn't stop long.

17-07-2007, 05:26 PM
Wooo Hoo.
Just seen the pictures, great day and the family really got into it too!
I'm the fat bastard in blue shirt talking to Pete and Gary in Des' photo.
The picture of the Trex is a mate of mine from work. He just got back from the UK with 1400 quid worth of shit from Demon Tweaks and built that from a stock red and white import in 10 days.
Thanks guys. 8^)

17-07-2007, 06:02 PM
hey Barknmad, so you work at volvo [8D]

17-07-2007, 06:39 PM
Oh yeah - forgot to mention that the Kwaks outnumbered all other makes at the ASF stand....for shame, for shame.....[:0]

17-07-2007, 06:55 PM

17-07-2007, 06:55 PM
Hey Hillsy, its quality not quantity that counts. :D

17-07-2007, 07:34 PM
Maybe I do maybe... I do.
But it may be the trucks not the cars, if you know what I mean, Mack. 8^)
