Hey Guys. I just wanted to ask if anyone is willing to put their hand up for helping me with this event in the form of selling gear, talking about 'Fighters and actually bringing their bike to show off.

Here's the basic low down: http://www.goldcoastbikeweek.com/

We will have a stand for the Friday/Saturday/Sunday if I get enough interest.

Do I have any takers? I need to know so that I can see whether it is worth booking the stand. Be good to see Stu/Ben/Brad up here if they can. Let me know guys.

Aha, yes of course. It's first show! Where's those bloody photos for the decals?

Cheers Dave. I'll have to find out how many passes are given per stand so that none of you get roped into going and paying if you weren't going to anyway.

How long would it take to drive there from Adelaide in a ute with bike on board days, weeks, years :D ? I was thinking of unvailing my bike there at the asf stand if it is ready in time and making a holiday out of it as well as meeting people from the asf.

Hey stu. Its just shy of 2000kms... You'd do it in 1 huge day (2 drivers - done it before) or break up into 2 merely big days :D
Think of it as getting to know your adoptive country ;)

I'm gonna try to make it up too - dependant on the various Expo's around the country (THE BIKE ONES - NOT THE SEX ONES YOU FILTHY FUCKERS!)
Don't know if I'll still have the 'Blade by then though.
Oh yeah, that reminds me - the 'Blade is for sale next week. Gotta make room in the garage for the next project....

Ok, lots of hands up. Remember I don't know how many free tickets are available. If I remember rightly we only got 2 or 3 last year! Preferance would go to blokes with bikes they can show off as having a stand with one bike and T-shirts is a bit wank. So who has bikes to show. Stick up a photo and show who can do what days.

Did you wanna go on the same stand Stu?

zx12argh
07-05-2007, 05:19 PM
I can be there and whichever day need be. I'm still a student around then.
Oh and I've pulled off the engine cage and have a belly pan and a few clean up bits in the works. Hopefully will have a proper paint job done on it by then too.

Si, I am heading back to QLD to spend a bit of time around Toowoomba in August.
I was actually looking at the calendar today to see what dates to come over.
I could juggle the dates to be available if you need a hand, will be bikeless of course.
If I'm not needed, i might come for a look anyway.

Pommie02, you're bike's in also. What days can you do mate?

Evad, I'd love to see the Z there, same question to you as well mate.

Supercharger, as long as you bring the padded wall behind and the fish tank with a photo of a chicks butt in it as well, you're in also.

I've booked flights today. Arrive 25th August and leave Sunday 2nd in the evening.
Some notice would be good though as I need to sort hotels in Toowoomba and Brisbane.
If i'm not needed, I'll see you there anyway.

LMAO... damn work, always does this to us all. Luckily Ive been lucky so far.

Ive got both wheels off the Mongrel and getting them powdercoated black instead of that Purple colour they were lol.. Also getting the forks re-chromed, got a black fatbar instead of that bluey grey colour one I had before. Apart from that, the Mongrel is unchanged.

Si,

Chucked a new battery and some rego on the Naked bike,
back tyre looks a bit flat (but only at the bottom)
and Ozkats offered me a bit of floor / garage / lawn to sleep on,
so if i get the "little bit of weld" done its looking more likely.
(although I could bodge a bracket arcoss the gap...;))

Gix11
27-08-2007, 02:18 PM
Yea, I'll meet you mate. Carrara Stadium entrance. Stay on the Pacific highway until Nerang exit 71 and then go right under the flyover, right at the lights by the servo, through the next set of lights and then right over the highway to Broadbeach. That road is the road the stadium is on. Just keep riding and you'll see it.

Latheboy, that sucks. Small show my arse, they get thousands through. This year will be the biggest yet. I'll video the dyno that does go for you.

Im not sure about Saturday at moment mate, seems I was double booked by wife for good family friends function (I'd be shot if I didnt attend function which is a lunchtime thing).

Not sure if its worth leaving function at 1pm for the show as would take me till around 3pm to get there. I might just head straight to Shaynes to set up for the nite... (to be honest, was thinking of willowbank drags after function so my whole day is not a waste lol, but due to minor tuning issue, wont be going to Willowbank)

Looking at the limited attendance for Saturday, I kinda feel like a deserter..

Come on fellas...

Ok, final word. Anyone wanting to get their bike on the stand without issues get to Carra stadium at around 7am each day. I have 2 weekend passes which could be "interchanged". If not, anyone on the stand can get a discount of $5 to $20 each day (but if you follow the Des method it could be $20 cheaper than that - remember you need a show bike for that). If anyone can help each day (Tony?) if you get their on the early time we can drive you in with us. It will all come together! By the way, I have some gear from Stu on the stand iof anyone needs to check rego holders or bar end mirrors etc.

Tony Nitrous
30-08-2007, 07:39 PM
Was coming down about 8, will make it closer to 7 then.

Bit scarey that worse case could be $20 x 3 = $60 entry over 3 days!

Thought there might be "weekend" pass's ?

Was trying to work out how to get my paddock/race stand down there?
or if anyone has a spare one ?
Never mind... beer can under the side stand it is...;)

They better have the coffee going at 7am.

See ya in the morning.
