I aint in no real rush to get this done this summer. Its gonna be next seasons drag bike. After mine and Caveys jawnt down the Ramsey sprint we've got the bug :DCaveys on about selling his Buell to fund his 1/4 mile obsession. Ive been collecting parts for this for a few months now and have got pretty much everything i need ;)Its just the ally welding thats holding me back

Ive got this Kawazaki 636 seat unit set up ,ive choped 70mm off the bottom rail and it mates up to the frame shhweeet,it kicks up the arse end a treat with the line of the pillion pad flowing with the lines of the tank, the riders seat just needs trimming back about 20mm for a puka finish

I remember that delivery shot from ages ago Jim. This one's been taking a back row. Now you've got the Bandit done I reckon this thing is going to turn out bloody great. By the way, don't leave the soldering iron on if the power goes off in the garage mate.

exile

Yeah Si, i took charge of the project back in January and its gone on the back burner untill now due to getting the Bandit finished for the TT. Ive been collecting parts at random off ebay if they were at bargain prices and with what ive already got in the garage, have now got pretty much everything to go ;). The only things thats outta my hands are the CNC and the ally welding , thats down to T.E.S engineering. They're knockin up a THUG bottom yoke in a MV Augusta styley, extending a Busa swingarm 10" over and machining up a new hub for the Oz racing back wheel and an adjustable shock mount....;)

Heres the front wheel of a pair i scored off ebay last year for £520+£20 for the posty, they came with proper fucked tyres, the PVM cast iron discs upfront and a wavey at the back
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/exile711/baset%20case/Picture016.jpg
The front slots into the Busa fork sweet, but when i tried to sort a sprocket carrier it all went tits up :(I tried K series and SRAD[?]Oz wheels UK and Cresent Suzuki didnt wanna know so i took it down to T.E.S engineering and they are gonna machine me up a new hub out of 5" billet to except a K seies carrier. I can feel a trip up to the ebay sellers house with the old hub and i just might try some internal irragation with it on the CUNT [}:)]

So much for a weekend working on the bike :( After my friday nite escapade and the police helicopter, i spent the w/end under cover with the family. I did get a fone call from T.E.S today tho:D the new hub for the oz wheels almost finished, my bottom yoke ready and just needs me to sign it off, and the slugs are done for Busa arm extentions. Im gonna shoot down there this friday with Cavey n Spart so will get some bike porn fotos up for you lot :D

No bike porn fotos as yet lads as T.E.S work shop was flooded out friday with all this fantastic british summer we're having :(If this gets anyworse he will have to diversify into gixer powered dingys and submarnes;) Im still glad i went down there coz he's done my bottom yoke completly wrong [:o)]

Ok update time folks, things came to a standstill due to problems down at TES engineering...So i got on with what i could while i sorted another welder out. I got hold of Caveys WP tank and Busa arm that he was gonna slap on his B12 and here we go.....
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/exile711/baset%20case/basketcase009-1.jpg

exile
11-12-2007, 06:51 AM
I pulled the Plug on TES engineering and gave him 1 months notice to have my hub, bottom yoke and swingarm sorted. The date was set for the 27/11, i went down there early on the 28th and was banging on his door at 9am. The swingarm was in the jig ready to go to the welders, the hub was still a 4" chunk of ally and he'd done my yoke wrong again !!!!!:(
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/exile711/baset%20case/basketcase001-1.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/exile711/baset%20case/basketcase002-1.jpg
I finally left his workshop 8hours later still minus the hub :(

exile
11-12-2007, 06:58 AM
Then i pinched Caveys Buell front mudguard to go on the Busa forks. This is were i had to question my sanity. To make the cheap mudguard fit, i had to butcher a decent set of forks. Ive lobed of all the bracket minus the caliper mounts and knocked up some pukka brackets, and hey presto....

The Busa arm slots straight in the J frame, use the std spindle with an oversleeve, std Busa shock, rocker n lingages, modified the bottom frame rail for linkages and 1off removable top shock mount to suit

Hey folks, im finally back on line, my feckin laptop went tits up before xmas so i gave it to Spart to sort for me...top man! And then i discovered the power of the PS3, im over that now and back on the straight n narrow [8D]
In the mean time...Ive changed back to the oil cooled tank and sorted the tank mounts on the subby. The frame, swinger and subby are off at the powdercoaters for abit of satin black, the wheels have been powdercoated white and treated to some new rubber. Ive banged out all the polishing meself and the bodyworks going off this weekend for the paint. Coz im running outta time im gonna put the 1216 motor in this till i get the T-Pot motor sorted (got a blow thru on the cards :D). I'll get some fotos up of the progress tommorow

Its the brother of one o me mates off Oldskool site. Hes only done lids before and this is the 1st full bike. I gave him a free hand on it really with a few pointers in what i like. I picked it up off of him this week, it looks stunning and so was the price £250 :D
I getting abit fucked off with waiting for parts to come thru to get this finished before i can start making a loom. Fingers crossed it will all come together for the Bulldog Bash in Aug. The trouble is ive just bought a K3 gixxer 1000 and im finding it hard to concentrate on the build
