Sad day Des.

I know how you feel,
always thought i would never sell mine,

Moved out here with no Job/Home/Transport etc and though it
would be too much hassle to import a modified bike.
Wish i'd still got it.

Now your 14 gets ALL the attention [8D]

are the 750s any good? i hear the japs still made them long after we stopped gettin them in britian

24-02-2007, 11:04 PM
The GSX750s was the model after the true Kat, it had the pop-up headlight, and faggot modified design. Piece of shit.

Japan actually kept on producing batches right up until 2001, of the real Kat11 that is. Mainly for the Japaneses collector market. The last 5 machines to roll off the assembly line were handed over to Yoshimura to build it's stunning 1135cc version.
OSS has lots of information on them, they wrere black, beefed up suspension/frame and produced 150 hp. A replica would make a good project.

im sure you given details on them before but mate can you get those wheels for any bike, aust made? they look awesome!!

25-02-2007, 08:53 PM
Dunno if they're the same Watevr, but I've seen a few sets that were laced up from standard mag rims, on Macintosh's mainly. The original spokes were machined out, drilled then laced to the original hub. They looked pretty similat to that. I tried to get a set done back then, but much more spokes, similar to a Jag pattern, and in black. Unfortunately they wouldn't do it as they reckoned the material wouldn't handle that many holes. This was back in the 80's

Had the wheels made up about 12 yrs ago, Akront rims, heavy duty stainless spokes laced to polished standard hubs. Back then they cost be $1200.

Ever have any problems with snapped spokes Freak? I've always been warned away from stainless for that reason.

My brother has a gs1000s with 18 inch spokes and he breaks around 1 a year on the rear, mine where 17 inch heavy duty and had no dramas at all over the years.

Knew some guys on old trumpy's and the like that had the problem, but don't know if they were running heavy duty. But then perhaps unreliability is contagious :D
