G`day, Pete here up in very damp north queensland at the moment, cool site here, just found out bout it, I`ve had a few fighters in the last fifteen years, (too many years in the uk with european maniacs not to have a fighter.) they were all mainly gixers and a couple of early model gpz`s. At the moment I have a `86vfr 750 , bored with the looks and am looking to fight this monster, anyone have any ideas where i can get help for this up here in Nth Qld? cos i aint got a clue what workshops there are here??? and i aint got a shed myself so relying on a mates garage

the first thing i would like to do is fuck off the rubber band they jokingly call a rear tyre and put something with a bit of width on, but know next to nothing bout hondas, do any newer models swingarms fit without too much fucking around?

How's it goin pete,
Welcome to the madness.

There's only a few of us on ere from Tsv.....sure they'll be along soon.
VFR750....what a coincidence we was just talkin bout one of those.

As far as workshops goes there's not really any specialists.
Backstreet Bikes,Have some good second hand shit..RHD occasionally come up with the goods..Generally most of us get our stuff online.

Apart from that everything we do is either under house or in backyard sheds...Tis the Streetfighter way.

G'day pete

Good luck getting go good bits for the VFR. I could be looking in all the wrong places, but aftermarket bits seem a bit thing on the ground for us VFR owners. Don't let that stop you though, I reckon there is more satisfaction from making or adapting something to to the job than just bolting it on. Takes longer, more of a pain, but still satisfying!

G'day Pete welcome to " sunny north queensland " lol, would be good to catch up with you some time, I'm usually out the drag strip on saturday nights and out there on sunday afternoons ( after 3 ) if this bloody rain ever stops. Sundays are a catch up for all riders but mostly for stunters and drag racers having a play or practice, there is no cost and would be happy to see you out there even if you don't want to ride.

My mobile no is 0405276179 call any time but perfer in the arvo.

I will be in at RHD in Casy street for the nest two days doing some work for them in you want to drop in and say G'day.

Hope to see you soon

Cheers Clive

G'day Pete,

Good luck with the build matey - I know all to well what that weather is like up there... I grew up in Innisfail but dont tell anyone - they might start thinking I've got a second head.

By the way mate - did you know you've got some kind of wierd growth coming out of the top of your bike. It's not the first time I've seen that sort of thing on these forums so I dont think you are alone...[:p]

yousa pete i used to have one of them old girls..88 model got 150000 miles out of it before it finally called it a day the 17" front wheel off the 88/89 will improve the handling no end and slides straight in ,apart from that i didnt do much else cept s/s headers[their a bastard to get on/off] and as for the weird growth mine attacks me with thomas the tank engine...

check the clearence on the swing arm, chain etc and if there is enough room then one size wider won't hurt it at all

Cheers Clive
