Ok boys and girls. Here a chance to catch up with our Nth Qld members. November 25/26 2006 - we'll ride up for a night in 1770 and try and sort a pub for the night. If anyone has any suggestions or is familiar with the area speak up now.

"A completely sealed and tarred road reaches the Town of 1770 from Bundaberg, 120 kilometres to the south, with a partially sealed and tarred road access the town from Miriam Vale in the north."

If you're in for it pipe up now and if anyone klnows guys that may be interested but don't visit the site often (or miss stuff like this) let them know.

SE QLD Guys reply in here, Nth QLD guys reply in the Nth QLD version of this topic.

Cool Map lol,
As you know the site I am building is not finished, but I have tourism meeting next week, if I can get an Idea on how many rooms are needed I will try and get you a group discount, the roads into 1770 are great all sealed, accommodation in Agnes Water would be the go, Tavern close by, thou the Tree at 1770 on the waterfront is good value, but accommodation may be the problem, only 7km between Towns.

join up on my site Gold Coin Rewards should be on offer next month for discounts around 1770, Agnes Water, Gladstone.

Thanks for the Heads Up. [8D]

No problem with the map,
No pubs with accommodation around here, there are camping area's, I will wait untill you have a better Idea on how many rooms are needed, then I'll hit up some accommodation guy's for a group discount.

Hey Gix,
Spoke with Wayne & Lesly Miles, they have two 3 bedroom & one 4 bedroom house beachfront available, next to each other plus a number of 2 bedroom units on the same grounds, and a bar, they recommend that you book now as they do book out as do most places in this town, it is easier to un book later than to try for rooms on the day, I have seen a lot of people have to leave town as everything is booked out.

can not remember how many each sleep as the xxxx had kicked in by that time.

by the time you divide the cost up, should work out well.

Sandcastles 1770

What sort of cost are you talking mate? I mean just a ball park so we don't need to hassle them if it's way out. If the price is right with the lads we might go for that.

hey Si, i dont blame you for being confused. i changed my email address and therefor han to change my user name? Anyway, that with the infrequency of my posts its no wonder you got confused.
Anyway its all good except that my other gixer now requires another alternator, well at least thats what the boys at Team Moto/ Moorooka Yamaha are saying. My gixer is sitting in their workshop indefinetly. Im going to tell them its got to be ready the week before the 1770 ride!!!
See my post in the parts requested section

Hey guys,

It is possible that I might be coming along for the ride up to 1770. Although My GSXR1100 will still be stock standard at that time, this might give me an opportunity to see the works of art you guys ride to get the creative juices flowing. Will confirm closer to the date.

27-10-2006, 02:01 PM
Hey Jarrod, believe it or not, out of all of the names listed so far I think there will only be 5 modified bikes there! There's a lot of tin top action and standard bikes going as well. This one is more of a general meeting/get together than the our annual bike event. If you want to see all the bikes together and done up especially for the event get yourself to "THE FOOLS RUN" in April as well as that's when you'll see all the good stuff. I'll put your name down as well mate.

I could be up for this, just need to check on a few things, do we know any more about room arrangements. Whos leaving when and from where?

Does anyone know what the fuel situation is up there, is Premium available?

Dont worry Jarrod, nothing bling about my bike!!

27-10-2006, 06:43 PM
or is that saturday

28-10-2006, 12:13 AM
how bout 9am at the Ettamogah Pub.be early.(1st exit after the Caloundra turn off, just turn left when ya see the cow skins hangin on the fence).
Shayne, bring a bottle of octane boost just in case, but we're not that fuel retarded north of Brizzy.Dont worry about accommodation,im onto it.

abusa
28-10-2006, 07:50 AM
Davo I was more worried when I get to 1770 as the Turbo only gets around 300klms on a tank, probably less if those roads are worth having a squirt on! Havent tried the bike Octane Boost might get me out of trouble though.

Just checked on th BP site and the last Servo to have Ultimate is Bundaberg but Shell has a Servo at Miriam Vale selling Optimax, not sure if thats the way we would be coming or going.

I havent been up there since I was a kid and that was through Bundaberg I think and shit some dirt roads. I hear its all changed now and its a booming town.

9am at Ettamogah sounds good.

We just booked a room at the Mango tree motel for 2 adults it was $80 per night[8D]
A lot of the other places were around the $200 -$230 a night...![:0]

The number is 07-49749132

She said she had 11 more rooms free for that night, 3 with undercover parking, but she said we could put as many bikes under the cover as we liked.

It's the old shop at the beach (it used to be anyway) so it's not too far from th Agnes Tavern (and all own hill on the return trip to bed)[:o)]

28-10-2006, 04:53 PM
so were stayin at Agnes Water ??? was just havin a look on google and the motel is 6k's from 1770.either way im easy.

KRASH
28-10-2006, 09:03 PM
we booked at Mango tree because if you look up sandcastles for that date they are heavily booked and start at $150 a night. There is only 7k's between the two pubs.So we'll drink at either but the beach for swimming is Agnes, and the Tavern is about 500m from the Motel.
Di also found it hard to find much accomodation other than the dearer resort style places.you really have to ring around and get referals locally as the smaller places aren't into advertising much

It's just a thought but 1770 is more a fishing orientated holiday place.

Agnes is a lot bigger place, and has a lot more ammenities.
1770 is good to go for a ride to and have a beer at the pub, but that is about it.

I can see if the Tavern has a live band for that date if you like as they do this fairly often.
Just our 10 cents worth......(we will drink anywhere:D)

KRASH
28-10-2006, 09:05 PM
I think there is PULP at Agnes waters servo as we ride to there a bit.
I can check with them if anyone wants...

KRASH
28-10-2006, 09:25 PM
just talked to the Agnes Tavern, and they said they will run a courtesy bus to 1770 for pick up and drop home, so it won't matter where we all stay we can get to and from to drink at either pub

good work krash, look like you got some things orginsed there

29-10-2006, 05:02 PM
nice 1 Krash. I'll ring the motel and book a few rooms. So far we have about 17 starters and the rooms sleep about 4-6 people.Who else wants to book their own???

Gix11
29-10-2006, 06:27 PM
Where is everyone staying again? Is it a pay up front thing / book now? I'll have to cover SCM and Robbie if it is. Everyone staying at the same place?

29-10-2006, 11:22 PM
Mate, being a motel they'l probly want deposits up front which i cant cover at the moment.Im ringin the joint tommorow to suss it out,so i'll let ya know if i can book the joint without too much outlay.Krash has done the homework and it seems like a plan.If the motel books out i found a Trailer Park that has cabins in 1770. did a goggle search under Seventeen Seventy so check it out

I told the Lady there will be a group of us so to expect more bookings shortly. No deposit required but need to leave a credit card number as a holding deposit.so get on the blower and book yaself in. 07 4974 9132.$70 for a room and $10 for each extra person.
Thanks to the Krash's for the info.

31-10-2006, 05:15 PM
Hey guys,

Are we organising own accomodation, or is someone going to organise accomodation for all of us in the one place (as best as possible). Am willing to go halves in a share room if anyone needs to. Maybe if that 1 double room with 2 singles and the bunks would be a cheap option for a few of us if its still available.

She's all closed up. Got the answerphone. Bugger. Anyone know if those rooms are still available? I've got to try and arrange something for me, Mark and Robbie at least.

31-10-2006, 06:58 PM
Jak,normally i'd book a pub for everyone but the pub doesnt have accommodation so best i could do is tell the lady at the motel that we should be booking all the rooms so she is expecting a few fone calls.Would be a good idea to book 1 and then advertise avaliable beds as im sure they will bs snapped up real quick.I woulda booked the whole lot on my credit card but ive been stung before which cost me $$$.
Si,i rang you yesterday but no answer. The above rooms are still avalible,so try ringin during business hours.
