What are you after and where are you located. I know of several in the Sydney area that aregood candidates.

There is a nice gold Kat on e-bay for sale [:p] ;)

06-04-2006, 09:45 AM
Get yourself a GPz900R mate. A good one will fit you're budget, and they go hard, look good stripped, and have that magic K on the tank.

You being in Tassie might cause a problem. I was going to suggest Huddo's second bandit but that'll be shit loads to ship down there. I think he's considering selling it in parts now anyway.

06-04-2006, 02:10 PM
I thought they only rode V-Twins in Tassie? So that the bike has the same number of heads as the rider?

06-04-2006, 02:11 PM
hey i ment 3 grand not 3000 grand!

yeah i live in tas. i could prob get something from vic pretty easy just drive my ute over on the spirit and pick it up. any idear of how much shiping would be for a bike from sydney to tas? something like cbr 600 gsrx 600/750 or a kawasaki but really i'll take a look at anything. is there any pics of huddos bandit? there is some nice stuff on ebay but i'd rather buy something of someone here so its abit lest risky

Dont they do a ferry from sydney? [8D]

06-04-2006, 04:23 PM
Any info pics on Huddo's extra Bandit?

I might be interested at the right price. I was looking on the Lazareth site earlier, and they do the Busa kit for 5900 Euros, not much less than a full Spondon (yes I know the Spondon would be a much superior bit of kit), and probably the only way to get a B-King at this stage.

A GSX750ET for $580 at Cash & Co Wreckers, a GPZ750R for $1200(priv), a GPZ1100B1 for $1500 at Windsor Wreckers, a private CBR600(damaged) for $2200, a private GSXR750(89)for $1500 and a private FZR1000 for $1500. Thats just in the last month. Most are good runners.

That GSXR750 would be perfect for your next step up mate and a great 'Fighter base as you well know.

How about this one a Suzuki 7/11 for 6 g's, too much ?? I'm unsure if it's a good deal myself but someone here could tell you it is whether or not. It's a Mick Hone Motorcycles in Melboune. I'll be at the bike shop next week if you want me to check it out.

Cheers Rich

i looked on the spirit of tasmania site i seem to be up for about 400 bucks to go up to sydney and bring one back. probs about 300 for melbourne.

yeah gsxr is nice. but also interested in the cbr. how old is it and how damaged thanks guyz this is very usefull.

yeah not sure if i'm ready for a 1300 fimp. nice bike though its not a big deal for a bent sub frame surely?
this week i'm going to see what i can get for the two bikes i own now and maby i might come up at easter and buy myself a bike(and have a holiday too)

06-04-2006, 08:59 PM
best value for money is the GSXR 7fiddy,you'll get a good 1 for 3large.[:X]

Razorback
06-04-2006, 09:39 PM
You could also get a damaged Fireblade around 91-93 for that sort of money. They make great project bikes... keep saving while your looking.

I know its not in your range but geez this is a good pickup

http://www.motorcycledisposals.com.au/Pages/Bikes/629R%20ZX12R.htm

That would make a kickass fighter.[}:)]

Fimp was being sarcastic Pottsy. The first thing you do (if you're really gonna go for it) with a 'fighter is change the tail end and usually the subframe, hence, this thing is gagging for it.

chopaweeza
07-04-2006, 07:26 AM
The CBR600 is front end & bodywork damaged. It's an early 90's model I think. I'll drop by the owners house on the way home from work & get some details. You would be looking at a replacement front end and probably need the frame straightened as well. Will get more details on the others if needed.

pottsy
07-04-2006, 11:55 AM
thanks man but don't trouble yourself!
i would like a bike that has good frame forks as i don't want to have a too involed bike. just rip the faring off and get some motorcross bars for the momement...then start putting on some custom idears
chasing a early model gsxr1100 localy will see my dirt squirter next week then i'll have some money and start checking stuff out.

07-04-2006, 02:00 PM
Well, that cuts the list down to :-GPZ750, GPZ1100, FZR1000 and the GSX750(sort of)

was anyone at the sydney big day out?? HAHAHAHaaa

chopaweeza
08-04-2006, 07:34 AM
The CBR600 is a 94' model. It requires alot of work. The frame is bent, the entire front end(except brakes) needs replacing, the engine is frozen from sitting for so long and the bodywork needs repair. Not worth it.

Suzuki is the God of motorcycles nuff said.

chopaweeza
08-04-2006, 11:08 PM
I wouldn't personally get either Suzuki I've listed. Best value for money is either GPZ with me leaning towards the 750 as it's got a headstart on fightering by someone already.

How would a turboed CBR1000F drag bike/street fighter project grab ya?

I'm looking for $6K ono, and open to offers.

hey man just looking at your bike on your thred.
looks interesting but not really my cup of tea. and i've just lost my licence for 4 months which means restarting my ps and another year untill i can ride a big bore.

140 in a car in a 110 zone when i'm spose to be doing 80

i'm over driving cages. so now i'm looking for a fast 250 like a cbr/fzr or a vtr to mod.

just out of interest does your bike have a blow off valve, that would be sick. i want a turboed bike just because it would make that noise

pottsy
05-05-2006, 10:25 AM
another thought does anyone now if you can fit a singal sided swingarm to a vtr 250. :D

i know its not really you guys type of thing but nobody else on the net seems to know which probly means it isn't possible. but maby get a 400cc one??

The bike 'apparently' isn't anyones cup of tea. I've had so many people say "man, I'd love to have your bike. Its sick." blah blah. But now the bike is for sale, everyone is like "oh, its not really what I want". These are the sure signs of a 'dreamer'.

Yes, it does have a BOV.

Of course, alot of these idiots would kill themselves on it anyway. So long as I get my cash and the gene pool is filtered.

yeah it just looks abit fugly with the stretched swingarm. put on a stock one at it would look better( untill you touched the throttel and fliped it) you'll find someone whos interested you should put a post of it on a drag bike website (if there is such thing) if its a proformer i recon those guys would be interested. i don't think i'm quite ready for a 1000 anyway even less a turboed.

Hey guys just bumping this. yet again i'm looking at a bike, local bike wreckers. Late 80's GPX750 cosmetic damage (the plastic fantastic one with the big flat engine cover on right side) 1100 i can trade my dirt squirter in for it. got any pics for nice ones of these they are abit uninspiring but i'm sick of dreaming and want to tinker.

01-08-2006, 03:06 PM
The GPX had a stonkin motor in it, went really hard, looked like shite though.

But if you're fightering it, the original looks don't matter so much, I mean the Blades make great looking fighters, but stock? well just another bloody Honda then. :D

That’s the one. All the panels a bashed up anyway straight off with them. You say they have a good motor? Crap handling I read but they are 20 years old. That bikes okay so it would be possible to build something I just don't want to be buying the sports bike equivalent of a Volvo!
This is pretty much the same (colour and everything) except mine is apparently a 750 http://www.motorcycledisposals.com.au/Pages/Bikes/630RGPX600.htm
Thanks guys

If you're willing to wait, keep your eye on the auctions (Fowles). They do get pre-nineties bikes coming through - and if they're pre-ninety they don't get listed on the write-off register - which means you can get a Safety Cert and take it straight to Rego. I've seen a couple of FZR1000's, 87 models (I think), go through the BNE auctions for around $1200 with about the same damage as that GPX.

pottsy
02-08-2006, 06:54 PM
I don't really want to stuff around with auctions and waiting. I’ve seen this bike and it’s cheap. I’ve just spent half the day putting my DR back together and if I can do a direct swap or little bit of money (my money) I’ll take it. 750 with 100hp is enough for me atm especially if it handles like a pig. No need for a thou it’s also something different and I like the look of the engine. Just need to raise the back sub frame and custom bodywork. Thanks anyway mate.

No worries Pottsy - it'll be good to see a GPX fighter build in this forum. Go for it!

Sorry Pottsy but I reckon your getting the Volvo if you go for the GPX750.

Probably abit unfair but they were the labrador of the 750s when new.

pottsy
03-08-2006, 07:55 PM
Nah mate I’ve got a Ute but the whole idears of this bike is that it’s going to cost me nothing to get. Much as I’d like a holiday in SA but having lost my licence (read earlier in thread) it’s hard enough for me to organise my mate to drive my Ute and pickup/drop off an hour away let alone the mainland! Thanks anyway sure you'll find someone who wants it.

pottsy
03-08-2006, 08:00 PM
Thanks for your opinion God. But I think unfortunately I’m not taking your, however holy, advice. I’ll go check it out properly tomorrow might take some pics too. It’s powerful enough for me and I’ll just rip of the (shit house) body work. Might get some new forks/wheels to but that’s all in the future.

Hey pottsy where in TAS do you live, just out of interest. I was born and bred there but left at 17.

pottsy
06-08-2006, 08:16 PM
Well I’m not bred here (not a thing you really go around saying!) originally from Mornington Vic but moved when I was young.
I live part time in Launceston for school, work, getting pissed then go home to near Georgetown when I have no money left and to check out the net.
I’m leaving too next year! Queensland I think, have to meet the members up there. Tassie is just too cold.
I’m going to see the bloke again on Tuesday with the bike I want to swap for it we shall see then!

Hi Oz,

Small world! I was based at Georgetown for a project at comalco - in a move to be environmentally friendly the smelter hired us to enclose all the nasties with plastic. It was then covered with soil and planted grass. Looks a treat!
