BANDITROD

nah mate thats the stock bandit one (unless they are the same)

Iceman
04-05-2007, 12:51 AM
Some late model USD forks would be the trick, I'm not sure what would bolt straight on, maybe GSXR or Hayabusa?

BANDITROD
04-05-2007, 01:00 AM
thanks iceman i have been thinking along the same lines but cant find much in my area i also heard that some guys use tl forks is this true

Iceman
04-05-2007, 01:04 AM
I think Speeddemon's bandit has USD's but cant remember what he used, they might not have even been suzuki forks.

BANDITROD
04-05-2007, 01:05 AM
thaks mate i was thinking along the same lines i also heard that TL forks might fit is this true and would they be any good

BANDITROD
04-05-2007, 01:07 AM
(ok dont know what happened there) also thanks for help ice

Iceman
04-05-2007, 01:11 AM
I'm not 100% as to what would fit. You'd have to measure the headstem length and check that the bandit and TL were the same, and see if they take the same bearing. Might work.

BANDITROD
04-05-2007, 01:29 PM
ok thanks ice my mate has a tl across the road i am going over there now cheers mate

exile
05-05-2007, 08:46 AM
I got TL in mine m8,they drop the front end by 2", which makes things interesting, try 1100M or EXUP forks as they keep the same ride height.Try and get the whole front end as it makes the transplant easier

BANDITROD
06-05-2007, 10:28 AM
thanks mate thats good to know

Gix11
06-05-2007, 05:31 PM
Yea, I'd say the same mate. A complete '91/'92 GSXR front end will be a piece of piss to swap over. Just need to press in your original stem as far as I remember. Huddo has a set of Ohlins GSXR replacements: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4740

talk about bright mate.

keeping with the theme you had better polish the grease that you put in your head stem bearings.

makes it extra slippery

speeddemon
29-05-2007, 08:45 PM
From what i know the 1216 is the only 'stockish' reliable option. all bigger cc will have some heat issues cause of compression. done right i cant see it being much of a problem as long as you use the good gas and cool it well

banditrod, I had a 1340 cosworth kit in my GSXR1100M, yes it did run hot if you sat to long at lights, I fitted a temp gauge and kept an eye on it.
hightest i seen oil temp around town was 85c, back to back runs at the drags it went over 100 with no loss in power.
yes I would fit a 1340 kit again I LOVED IT & yes I do miss it.

BANDITROD
12-06-2007, 05:43 PM

13-06-2007, 05:31 PM
whats the fuckin idea with the steering dampener - i have way steeper angles than you and still dont need one?? cool build but gid rid of the former item.

BANDITROD
13-06-2007, 06:22 PM
that steering dampner is there cos since i jacked up the rear she's a bit unstable at high speed and cos i have had two offs this year due to bad slappers so the steering dampner will stay where it is speedomon every ones different mate and i feel more comfortable riding with it(p.s i had the stacks before i jacked it up by the way):D

speeddemon
17-06-2007, 08:05 PM
fair enough - but thats cause the forks r shit or were undersprung unless you are a big fella.

I have a raisd rear and lowered front from the USD length and push yhe bike very hard but no serious slappers to date. Still think it makes the bike more untidy but handling should always come first I reckon;)

BANDITROD
17-06-2007, 08:18 PM
yeah they are undersprung (i am 6foot 4" and 115kilos)i am looking at options for front end i wanna keep stock one if i can and lust spend some money on it upgrading springs and valves
Cheers Rod:D
