Alright ladies, here's what you've been waiting for.

http://streetfighters.com.au/images/events/sliners06.jpg

Uhu. This is your chance to give it some bollox.
Nothing is set in stone as to the date etc yet but we have the runway and the people, and we will do it!

The story so far: We have 3000m of concrete runway in Evans Head / Casino to do what the fuck we want with. We plan a one day annual event split into sections. We're open to ideas but as it stands we were thinking 1/4 mile drag qualifying in the morning, freestyle expression session after followed by top speed radar runs and finished with drag finals and trophy type shit. This is depending on the number of entrants we get. If there is too many we might have to have a rethink but we will come up with something good. The runway is approved by council. There's toilets and we'll get St.Johns for the crazy bastards. The plan at the moment is to aim for Spring time and we're looking at charging $50 per bike that wants to have a go. You don't have to be a pro, just "run what ya brung" and have some fun.
At this point the idea is up for your input and suggestions and we're looking for as much support as possible, so heads up and join in. Cheers guys.

Ill try to sort the xmas tree/timing/radar over the next few weeks. I actually think the race bikes should be included (big drawcard) but given there own format. as for (suspect)Streetbikes you should have to pass some kind of test eg, maybe a 6km witches hat course inc a restart engine test, for something like this id prefer to trailer my bike there anyway. Streetbikes must have matching vin numbers on frame to rego cert. Just a thought but everyone needs a level playing field. Food vans wont be a problem, most would proberly pay a fee to be there anyway. Burnout comp? Well what would a bike day like this be without a burnout comp? ;) The more we get behind this the better it will be.

Yeah, a trailor is no bad thing if your going to play hard.

I Agree, I Wouldn't be too strict on "Road-Legal" streetbikes,
How many of us would pass a real inspection. As you said "Self Starting" along with Treaded Tyres, Lights, Rego/Plates etc.

Got a mate with Turbo Busa running 8's who might be interested.

Si, Check out with someone "in the know" about your liability.
At the Drags in the UK you always sign a disclaimer, but last year
a guy died and the Cops arrested the organiser and tried to do-him
with some shit ! He was eventualy let off, after LOTS of hassle.
Just a thought.

Calm down, ladies![8D] It's all taken care of. What Si meant to say was this will be the first annual AuStreetfighter Straightliners[8D].
I've got the strip, facilities, timing lights and everything sorted - so all I need is an idea of how many bikes I'd be looking at[8]...

Si, Stu told me you were excited bout this, you don't stuff around do ya, see what happens when 2 blokes spend 12hrs together in a van.

Feel free to jump in any time Stu.

Methinks we set a date then. Im free every weekend cept the 1st weekend in April ;)

qickdraw
02-03-2006, 08:26 PM
And jump in I will! As mentioned above - this has all been on the boil in my miniscule little brain for the past 2 weeks (since Bikemania) and I've put a lot of effort in so far. Everything is being looked at in it's place, liability is taken care of, all the relevent councillers are aware of whats going on - so if/when we need help/suggestions as to format etc we'll stick it up here first!!
You guys just need to think about this - do you want it on a Sunday (means no drinking Sat night) or Monday? What time of year? Evans Head or Casino? Who wants to be involved in 'helping out'?

02-03-2006, 08:31 PM
im usually helpful Stu,but i';d like to know more about the toilets. As for spending a weekend in the same room Ben,guess who you'll be sharing a room with at the fools run,yes Quikdraw. and you blokes will have sanitary napkin disposal facilities

Count me in [:p] ;) should i invite the guys from Harrys and Aspley Mc Donalds [:o)] ;)

qickdraw
02-03-2006, 09:51 PM
I don't mind people being invited along as long as we don't get 20,000 fuckwits turn up! The last thing we want is for this be ruined after 1 year because some tool thought he was a hero & smashed himself (or someone else) to pieces....
There will be liability contracts for everyone to sign before going along, which will include a 'good behaviour' statement. Anyone who farks around (when they're not supposed to, or in a dangerous way) will be hung, drawn, quartered and fed to the pigs...

qickdraw
02-03-2006, 09:52 PM
OH - and NO H*RLEYS!!!

suxukifreak
02-03-2006, 09:54 PM
Well that counts all those guys out then :D ;)

qickdraw
02-03-2006, 10:00 PM
One more - yes you will all be able to compete if you are 'helping out'. What we envisage is around half a dozen groups taking turns at the various events. At any one time there will be 2 or 3 groups not doing anything and so a few people from each group will be used to take down times etc...
The toilets are permanent fixtures on the strip. Whether that means that they're not portaloos I'm not sure of yet, but they are maintained by the local council & so are (and will remain!!) in good nick.
There is accomodation in Evans Head in the form of pub-style hotels, caravan park cabins, camping area and a few more ritzy joints around the area. Depending on numbers we'll probably be looking at the cabins - the RSL on one side of them and the pub is on the other (apparently)! Oh, and the beach a couple of hundred metres off the end of the strip, so if Bens brakes fail he's got somewhere to go cool off!!!

EXBEN

I'll bring my wetsuit!

02-03-2006, 10:39 PM
evans hed is a small coastal town south east of Ballina,(not quite Casino),but heaps of accommodation.Give me some dates and i'll get out my black book and rent some rental girls. As for the toilets, never mind me Stu,thats just a personal thing.3fukin000 metres of strip should be almost enuff for me to pull up the gixxer.Hope its not sumwhere for the bronze to do massive defect revenue collection.I'd better go now, surfs up in QLD.

I have a great mate in Casino, 6'8" 135kg's into breaking down doors and things that goes fast and just happens to have a radar gun too.

Cheers Rich

04-03-2006, 08:58 PM
i'll race him for pink slips Rich, even give him a 3 second start due to his massive weight disadvantage:D[:X]

Rich
04-03-2006, 09:26 PM
Davo, Big Mick hasn't a bike to race, but he's one of the good guys. Just so happens I was drinking bourbons with him last night in Broken Hill, he was on the way to Alice Spring for a holiday.

Now there a two radars, mobile on the car and stationary. The stationary is the Lidar, all fits into a suit case and you hold and point it like a hand gun. Now it's possible that Big Mick could 'sign' the Lidar out for a day.

I won't ask until I get some feed back from you guys. If you don't want him there just say the word, I'm not out to waste anyones time.

Cheers Rich

hell yeah stu +1 for september and this event. i will have the geared up 250 stunter, so will there be a stunt section incorporated into the freestyle section? hope so :D

qickdraw
07-03-2006, 07:40 AM
We've got permission to use the strip for a 'time trial' style event, so if we're going to start stunting we've got to be really careful how we go about it. I don't want this to be ruined by anyone smashing themselves up while doing something outside of the boundries of the event... [B)][xx(]know what I mean?
The radar sounds like a good idea - that way we can definitely do 1/4 mile runs and top speed runs. Ask your mate to get in touch with me & we'll chat some more about it....
As far as numbers go we don't want this to be huge straight away. We need to start small & build from there. The simple truth is that if every man & his dog is there we'll all spend the weekend waiting for 1 or 2 runs :( - not good!
One last thing - would people be interested in a 2 day event[?] Saturday and Sunday[?] or Sunday and Monday[?]

OK guys. I've got Sep 23/24 pencilled in for the event. That's a Sat/Sun. If it ends up being just the one day it'll be Sun the 24th. If anyone is sure they will be coming already (as I know a lot of you are!!) then can you e-mail me direct with your confirmation & I'll get your name down.;)
As far as $$$$ goes if it's one day I'll try to keep it $50 per bike and $10 per guest (max 2 guests per participant), and if it's 2 days It'll probably be $50 for one day and $90 for both days.:D
Bear in mind this will be a 'private' event and there will be no ring-in's allowed on the day. Paid up participants and their guests only.
There will be a maximum of 50 bikes allowed to compete. This way it won't get too crowded & everyone will get plenty of runway-time!! We probably won't even get this many anyway, but I've got to set a limit somewhere!!!
I will advertise all available accomodation sites for the duration, but will leave it up to everyone to actually call & book it themselves - God know's I've got enough on my plate already!!! You should see the paperwork I've had to draw up..... it's a legal minefield[xx(]!!!!
Spread the word guys - this thing may just be pretty good!!!!
