The Mighty Hornet was traded on a ... 2001 Triumph Daytona Centennial on the weekend!

Bit of a story with the Daytona - it's actually the same bike that I had bought a number of years ago only to discover it was a write-off dodgy repair and so I walked away from the sale. Turns out a mate of a mate bought it a few months later (for $5K less than i had) and has had a trouble free run for the last 20,000km.

The Mighty Hornet yielded a surprising trade-in value - more than I was offered when it was only a few weeks old and once I sell off the pipes etc I should yield more than what I could have realistically sold it for privately - Have got to be happy about that!

The bike presents well enough and given I want to streetfighter it to make a super speed triple, the bodgy repair bits should all be removed anyway.

Anyone know anyone who wants some slightly used Hornet bits?

WOW Nice HB!

I love Daytona's. A mechanic I knew in Darwin had one and DAMN he could ride it. I coudlnt keep up with him on his mad days on my 02 Gixxer 1K. I could catch him on the power parts no drama, but that thing through twisties went harder than I was prepared to try and copy.

NICE ride man, congratulations! Boris from AMCN will love ya!

I spent more time polishing that thing than my own. The only mods she did were the chopping of the rear guard and a few decals. My mate Paul did the rest, in fact that's how I met him, buying his bike.

They did a nice 4-pot 1200 then decided that
75% of an engine was enough ;)
