How much better does that look,& how crap does it look in standard form when compared.

Shithot mate, why the fuck do they make standard cans so god damn big?

It looks good and sounds good... but a little bit to loud. I'll stick on a adr39 compl. sticker tomorrow, $20 is better then a $200 defect..

All that is left to buy and put on now is:
zx6 shock and forks; supercharger and a paint job.. I thinking mat-black... just like my old 84` gpz1200....

well done chads looks a treat mate! i was going to do the same thing to a stock can that i have here, to see how it all goes and to just have a go, but i was told that itd be rather difficult becoz of all the shit they stuff into stock pipes... did you have any dramas?

chadams

It was alright DrRew.... My end cap is held in by rivets, so it did not matter where the cut was as long as it was after the exhaust mount. The pipe had three chambers in it, I cut out the last two.... hahaha... nice and loud...

I bought a stationary noise sticker for it today... I got it engraved with 93db at 5500rpm... at least it will save me the defect in NSW...

Give it a go DrRew, if you screw it just run no pipe... just like the big boys in moto GP...

The shortened pipe does look shit hot. Was gunna do it to the Busa’s yoshi pipes but a mechanic told me that it would affect the top end performance. Have you noticed any difference in performance? Also can someone tell me if I shortened my pipes to 2/3 would a re-map be necessary?

Cheers Rich

I will need to buy a power commander and get it re mapped... but as a whole the power is better everywhere except between 1-2 grand... but I never ride in that range so it does not matter....

Attacked the Yoshi's, now they're 2/3 their original length. It was a pain in the arse job but well worth the effort, the more tire and rim you see the better.

Just done a quick test run. Sounds heaps better, louder. I reckon there is more grunt down low 0 - 180km, I didn't have the opportunity to see if the mid or top end had changed.

Oh yeah, the Yoshi's were a real shit to work on. Even had to drill out the name plate rivets as they were hooked up on the packing. They were packed that damn tight.

I know for a fact loud pipes are safe pipes.

if u can get it to a cut-off saw that would be ideal,

You guys must work on a bigger budget. $2.20 cutting wheel from Bunnings and a steady hand, job done.

Has anybody shortened a micron pipe? Just wondering if the end caps are held in place by the rubber rings or are there some rivetsi am not seeing?

Thanks
