Hey Sluglie, that's one tidy Rex you have there mate. Nice work. Haven't heard from you for a while. How's it going? Are you coming to the April Fools ride and bringing that beauty along with you? You must have spent hours polishing that before you took the picture? And all for our benefit? God you're good.

i have a veypor fitted to the bike so when i get the alloy housing for it i will be ditching the standard clocks and light and going fully nekkid.

the wheels were done by Mike Darcy at OCD Racing in melbourne as was all the other work that i didnt do myself, it also has some other bits

fully adjustable shorty racing levers
Veypor computer
Braided brake and clutch lines
full s/s cap head bolt conversion
LED lights all round
Clear tail light conversion
4 Deg ignition advancer
Bigger rear sprocket
full s/s exhaust system with ti can + K&N filter
the wheels and rotors
flat drag bars and risers
and lots of other polishing and general tidying up

i am now seriously considering pulling it to bits and getting the frame colour matched to the wheels, but i will have to get one of my other bikes on the road first

the shorty's i got from OCD Racing in Melbourne

if i remeber they were about $300 for the pair but i has been a while and my filing system is a bit erratic so i am having problems finding the invoice.

give mike a ring on 0408 491 668 i am sure he will be able to help you

it uses two 7/8" clamps straight on to the bars, on the back of the ally housing are 6 different points you can mount it (further up or down the back of the housing)

i will post some piccies later

Polygon? What, Polygon Engineering in the Uk?

jack
07-02-2006, 12:57 PM
oh yes' his cbr600f4i is up for sale for around the 8 to 9 mark to subsidise it. it will retain the stock tank/seat/tailpeice so as to keep the lawson look and be a twin shock frame to boot. will be an interesting conception.his ceeb should be ready to go in a week or two and has an endless list of goodies on it.

I'll be even more interested as Mark Robbins of Polygon is one of my mates. I haven't seen him or his work (other than in magazines) for over 10 years. Make sure we get more details and pictures mate.

Their stuff looks good.
I like it.
They seem to have made a good name for themself's.

Another alternative to the $9,000 Spondon kit.
FRAME, SWINGARM, ALLOY FUEL TANK, OHLINS REAR SUSPENSION, ENGINE MOUNTING BOLTS AND FRONT HEADLIGHT MOUNTS.
http://fapomatic.com/06/spon3_1.jpg

Back to the old Question.
Why cant you buy an Alloy Tube frame kit in Oz ?
Here we see yet another guy drooling over UK kit because
there isnt a home grown equivalent.

the reason i didnt opt for a spondon is that they dont make frame kits for my bike and i dont want to loose the tank and tailpiece

and the reason i am buying from the uk? cause i am a pommie and most of my mates are back there so i will just get one of them to pick it up and ship it over.

another alternative is a harris magnum, but like the spondon they dont do frames for the zrx and i dont want to loose the total look by replacing the tank and other plastics, allthough i will be putting a usd front end in it soon so it will at least loose the bikini fairing
