Bugger, I was hoping on the tiller after seeing the other post, especially the destroyer bits.

Can't pillion on mine as the pegs are gone, and the exhaust is in the process of being modified to run up from right behind the riders pegs.

Started a new job and ment to be working that weekend, should be cool to change it. Mr gsxar is allowed to come as long as he has been a good boy :D:D .If there is room got a couple of friends who are thinking of coming 4 the ride to.

10-01-2006, 09:29 PM
as per usual,Us Queenslanders are well organised when it comes to meeting up for a ride out(Nerang Macca's again). But we need someone to organise a meeting point for all the NSW,VIC and Sth Aus riders.Hornsby and then Newcastle are probly good meeting points(start and finish of Freeway, then the good roads begin),any volenteers?
Also anyone who is able to accommodate the far south riders the night before would be appreciated as they are making a fine effort to be there.

Cheers...Davo.

10-01-2006, 09:35 PM
Jo,need to know how many friends are coming please? the Nambucca hotel is now fully booked but i'm arranging extra accommodation at the pub over the road as it looks like there will be a huge turnout this year.when you know, please add their names so Ozkat can add them to the list on page 1.

Was thinking something like Whitelsea>Yea>Whitfield>Mansfield>Bright (for lunch) >Tintaldra for day 1
Day two Snowies after that I have know idea.

Yeah Chalk, I might try to make the effort to organise work/kids/wife/dollars.
Any acommodation still available?

12-01-2006, 12:15 PM
Yeah extra accomodation is being organised. Plus members get priority on site.

Should organiase for us CBR locals to get together for a beer for the new year in the next week or two. Where's that Busa riding slacker Tatha?

i was thinking about that on the weekend.

gotta start making plans for it and organize exactly what days i need off work.

probably get to the snowies in one day then do what rides Hornet boy thinks are worthwhile.
If we can spend the day in the snowies and catch up with the CBR peeps then make our way to sydney that night and the next morning meet up with the Sydney guys and off we go.

So it would be

Thursday - Melbourne to snowies
Friday - Snowies then if possible Snowies to sydney
Saturday - Sydney to Macksville
Sunday - Recovery/Free day
Monday - start the ride home we could probably just duplicate the ride up and have another day in the snowies if you want.

how does this sound?

Foxy
12-01-2006, 04:09 PM
Excuse my geographical fuckedupness but how far is Sydney to Macksville??

The rest sounds good, I wouldn't mind keeping the riding to a minimum on the Sat so that I can piss on and not turn into a pumkin after midnight [xx(]

I'm happy to take Thur, Fri, Mon, Tues off work.

Foxy
12-01-2006, 04:16 PM
Oh forgot to add.....I'm not a morning person either......unless I have to be

Deano
12-01-2006, 04:51 PM
in august i rode with mundy from newie to coffs (mundy had bike trouble so couldn't get all the way) and we went the entertaining way ,we left at about 7 in the morning and got to coffs about 4 in the arvo. We had a lot of stops because it was so fucking COLD and mundy's bike was playing up.

Am i right in assuming that coffs is close to macksville?

Zed14
12-01-2006, 05:14 PM
yep deano coffs is 1/2 hr north of macksville. allow at least seven hrs for syd to macksville the entertaining way. and 51/2 the boring way.

12-01-2006, 06:35 PM
Hey Claire, how far are you from Mack's?

Thinking of heading out Friday, and Sydney might be a bit soon for a stop. Deano/Foxy, interested in going through to Newy? I'll leave when you get here (as in with you, not to avoid you).

Foxy, I'll join you for a quick run back, as far as CBR anyway, if you want company.

Do we organize it our selves or is getting done as a group at the pub and sort it out when we get there.

just sent the Star Hotel mail about accommodation, looks like they will sleep about another 30 odd drunks.(not a bad pub actually,so we'll have to do a pub crawl to keep them happy too).I'll let yas know when i confirm it all.
Damo1, there will be punters heading back on the Sunday mate,so dont panic.
Gix,rekon i'll do the extra day this time mate, sure beats ridin home way over the legal limit and not enjoying the roads.and i dont mind a beer on Sunday mornings either.plus the big bonus is we get to do a bit of a ride on sunday around the local roads again.

Yeah Deano, that's about the way I pictured it as well, any more than 8 hrs/700 ks in the saddle per day & we'll regret it, It's one of those situations where less can be more.
I reckon we need a backup vehicle (car) as well :D I hate riding with shit strapped all over the bike [V]
As the date gets closer, we'll hafta get together over a few & sort out the details.

Deano
13-01-2006, 12:03 PM
Cool

would be good to have a vehcile in tow.

definately have to get the vic crew together and sort exactly where we want to stay on the ride up etc. Would probably prefer to stay in smaller semi country pubs (cheap accomadation and meals, and will probably bend over backwards to get a group booking)

Foxy
13-01-2006, 01:25 PM
A few meet points would be good to organise also.....ie Vic + CBR meet point......Vic + CBR + Syd meet point.

I go to bike night regularly in Southgate (Melb) on Friday night. If you and Hornet are keen Deano, maybe we could hook up there and go back to my joint to plot it all out (and have a few brews too :))????

It's gunna be a warm night tonight, I might scoot down & have a squiz.

Deano
13-01-2006, 03:26 PM
i could be keen also

Foxy
13-01-2006, 03:44 PM
Yep, come alone, its actually organised by another group, but all are welcome........ Im too lazy to give details so I've just cut and paste it

A group of people from various motorcycle clubs/forums, meets every Friday night along Southbank for a coffee and a gathering. It's a casual affair, with lots of chatting and the occassional eye candy (both two wheels and two legs 8))

Exact Location: Out the front of BearBrass Cafe at Southbank. (Melway Ref: Map 1B L12)
Time: From ~6:00pm every Friday evening, generally until around ~9:00pm

Getting There: From City Rd (in behind the Arts Centre) turn onto Southgate Ave ( Melway Ref: Map 2F, F8 ) and go all the way towards the river and onto the pedestrian promenade. VERY SLOWLY turn right onto the promenade and ride your bike about 50m east to the front of BearBrass where our gathering is and where you see many other bikes parked.

Usually it ranges from 10 bikes to 50. Most ppl there drink coffee, but its out the front of a pub so fuck that, I tend to grab a beer or bourbon or two from Rhumba's and drink it out near the bike.

Foxy
13-01-2006, 03:48 PM
Oh yeah, I'll be there tonight too. One word of advice....go really slow ie walking pace to keep the piece with the new security they have down there.
