nah mate
they don't let you use a transponder at the track days - so no lap timing
unless you have a veypor then you get to time your laps.

I'll stick with my digibeast.Cheaper than the veypor, billet alloy, waterproof, german T.U.V. approval(like A.D.R.s but stricter), so it's accurate.
If i need to know horsepower, I'll take it to a dyno.

each to there own

for me it is a no brainer as i plan to do track days etc so lap timing functions, shift light and gear indicator will be handy.

My needle has snapped off on my speedo and the cable kept falling out on the Coffs Ride. Do I qualify to be in this conversation?

Sound like you need to be :)

Check out the Sigma BC800, for a quick, compact, cheap (~$40), alternative and it works well on mine at the moment.

Note: I did have to replace the standard magnet with a reed switch magnet (about 50c from Dick Smith) in order to handle the clearance. In fact I'm just about to finish the first stage of my build, and I am down to the Sigma, which is so tiny it disappears between the riser clamps, and a tempgauge in a chrome pod where the ignition was, for instruments. I've put the ignition into one of the helmet lock holes. The only things past my triples now are the headlights by about 3cm, and the temp gauge pod.
