It's a fucker mate. Special tools are a rip off. I asked once and he Mal Maconnel was the only bloke who could get them. $300 or something stupid. The answer is a (blunt) cold chisel and a lump hammer mate.

Oz
could you make something like the above.
a raound peice of shafting to slide inside the hollow bolt.
weld a "tang" on the side to fit in the half moon cutout.
then weld a nut on the end of the shaft and undo with you favourite spanner.
the "tang" shouldn't bend to much as it should stay captive inside the 'outer' adjuster.

that will be $50 thanks

Mine came out with the cold chisel and it didn't fuck it. We tried loads of things before that but the old chisel did the job with one strike. It needed the impact to unlock it.

ok i thourght up and drew that up in about 1 minute (not that you could tell)
so the rate is $50 for the first minute and $45 for every minute there after
plus fuel levy of 16% (that shit is getting expensive)
plus freight $50
multiply that by the exchange rate of 1.5 (queensland dollar to victorian dollar)
minus the streetfighter discount (add $300)
l'll just do the quick math on that
= $465.30 + gst per two hour job.
quite cheap when you think about the quality of my work

air brushing hey- i think i can help you out there (now where is that paint roller and the dulux wash and wear)

or you could just get a kwaka like exben said. no special tools needed. thats because they think of the buyer unlike suzuki who only think about the dollars they can make on special tools. and then sell them to tools.:D

actually no need at all to remove that thing. just undo the other end and slide the swingarm pivot shaft out. easy.

Yeah, except that I went to get a steering head adjuster tool for my GPZ9 yesterday, $120 for a simple tool, guess what I didn't buy (had to order it in anyway).

PS Any one got one sitting around they don't use anymore? Willing to make a copy of theirs?

thats called a "circuit breaker".handy little fucker lets ya know when ya got a short in the wiring harness(but surely ya knew that);)
mate, did ya tighten the swingarm clearance adjuster against the bearing seal cover before tightening the pivot shaft nut and clearance adjuster lock nut?[:0]

When i was pissing about with the loom on my early Slabbie 11, all the electrics went off. Dead. Nothing.
Under the battery box was a little box with a pop out / trip in it.
Push it in and all was well.
Mine was a well butchered bike so not sure if thats stock, no-one else seems to have had / found it ?

Just a thought.

Tony

EDIT.. Bloody Hell Davo,
You beat me by about 14 seconds with that post
;)
