Don't you just love the way some people have to say the most bleeding fuckin' obvious in as cryptically pithy, cheap eastern mystery influenced, grass-hopper idolising, excessively ethnic reverential, self-superior drivel.

Hey Sifu, I think that even the dumbest of us have figured out that being able to know next week's winning Lotto numbers just might make us rich.............maybe?

PS if you could see 3 days ahead, then sooner or later you're gonna know that you ain't gonna live for even 100 years let alone be rich for 1000's.

just my kama sutra's worth :)

Somebody should have explained to that whining tit that we don't feel 'honored', but amused :)

And laughter makes the world go round doesn't it?

Any way let's get into philosophy

We can discuss the superiority of Hobbes' 'natural law' theories as averse the 'natural rights' theories of Locke.

'Leviathan' (1651) v 'Two Treatise of Govt'(1662?)

i think that 'two wheels mag' did the comparison (Leviathan 1651model versus the Two Treatise 1662model) is that what you are talking about mate?

24-08-2005, 05:39 PM
Yep that's the one mate.

But I think back then the mag was called 'The Inquisition', or something like that.

Just as a by-the-way, did ya know that Leviathan was originally published as a political PAMPHLET.

Pity the poor kid who had to deliver a few thousand of them!

And if 'two treatises' seems a bit familiar in places, that's because it was the single biggest influence on the US blokes who wrote their constitution, and a number of statements are taken directly from Locke's work.

These two guys are arguably the most significant individuals that shaped modern society, including ideas such as human rights, rule of law, secular govt, modern democracy, all the political movements of the 20th C, and more.

And while the left whinge deride Hobbes as a fascist, communist/left wing theory owes more to the writings of Hobbes than Locke, they just replace the 'Head of State' with 'State' and then deteriorate into pink/red fascists in their own right.

Sounds like a plan mate. Had too many girly requests which I have turned down. Guess I should do some! I'll need a hand with what I should use though, being the fashion Guru that I am I would have probably used bin bags for the last ones if the bird at the T shop hadn't put me right, and girly shit is even harder!
