Hey guys, need an opinion... Just trying to work out where I can mount my clocks. The high priority is for them to get out of the way so I can sit on the tank with feet over handle bars no probs... Here's a quick mock-up I did, if u look closely u can see the top edge of the headlight... Still need to work out where 2 put idiot lights...

NICE. I'm not much on Jap bikes but that does look nice. Of course I would have put a single sider in the back :D

J7-11
17-12-2004, 10:56 AM
Ahh I'll take that as a compliment??? Maybe a single-sider one day but for now I just want to get her on the road!

Spondonash
17-12-2004, 12:02 PM
Yes that was a compliment. I have a nice Honda RC35 (I think) single sider sat here, would look nice in that frame :D

03-01-2005, 02:46 PM
[8D]THE only single to use is from M.V[8D] gunna put my 11 on the rollers this week,i didnt` win lotto so i might need some new digits as refrence[:p] HE HE!
Have you seen monty lately J?

J7-11
03-01-2005, 03:57 PM
I'd prefer a mega-top braced JMC over a single, but that's just me...

Haven't seen monty around, although I hear his leathers cause a bit of a stir!

Update: Sprted out my wiring today bar the alarm, well wired it in then couldn't get the fucker to work! Just kept on going off, and being as late is it is, I wasn't gonna try and fuck around with it to get to work...

Anyway all that's left now is sort the oil cooler out (have 2 mount it upside down, fuckit), put the brake lines on, sort out the dash, do a final tidy up of the wiring, chuck the carbs on and get some rego!!!

Wheelies and trackdays here I come!

J7-11
20-01-2005, 08:45 PM
Funny you shoud mention, she got her first start today!!! And my does she sound AWESOME!!! but then again maybe I'm biased... have 2 go back to the old oil cooler temporarliy too whilst we devise some fittings... Still got that mate who has an Pirtek franchise? I need 2 x 16mm banjos & banjo bolts...

Going 4 rego tomorrow but have a few electrical gremlins, need 2 install a couple of diodes, and work out why the hell the high beam switch ain't working... it was before, the pass switch still works, but no high beam/low beam...

The 7/11 is rego'ed! I'm legal!!! Even got it sorted with the 11 donk in there!

From 5-7 she's a bit rough but elsewhere she hauls ass! 3rd gear power wheelies, even picked the front up in 4th coming out of a corner!

Seems to handle pretty well, but didn't punt it too hard as it was at night, and I really didn't want to crash it on her first ride... MAN IT HAULS ASS!!!

Still haven't sorted the Earl's cooler yet, but have devised a way 2 get clearance, will get that done next week, get her on the dyno and tuned, all ready for the trackday on the 29th!!! BRING IT ON!!!!

and yes, pics to come!

mundy: Thanks mate! Will be good 2 have our 7/11s side by sidei with our 2 plates hey? Yes u will get 2 know it! Do u work during the week? I've got no job as of the 31st of Jan, and don't go to Tas until the 27th of Feb, so got 4 weeks of nothing to do except ride and bludge!!!

Was going up the Old Road 2day but the weather is shithouse and not looking like clearing up! Arse!!!

ozkat: Cheers!

23-01-2005, 05:06 PM
I slipped down da goat track this morn hoping it would clear up.Gosford & Turramurra highest rainfall in da southern hemisphere! talk to MAX at the cafe` he owns it,i told him u will be about.I dropped in two sets of slide springs,if it aint ya needles that are worn it may be the speed that ya slides are cum`n up at?? That is critical on "ss" carbs,& thats not www.dot/comADORE.Yup,i work during da week.Speeking of plates i was wunder`n if MAMBA was still there?
when we get down that goat track (soon) & i jet the thing (close)there will be a plenty of "ARRON GRADERS" shakin thier heads.
Did a top end roll-on 2day on the xpressway at 140,it chain pulled sideways to the left & spun till i calt my breath.yes it was a wet road.
The mad one

J7-11
23-01-2005, 10:39 PM
I live in Turramurra (kinda) and yeah, it pissed down!!! It's not the needles that are worn coz she's got new ones! Gonna get her on the dyno this week hopefully so might find out what's going on with an EGA. Might pop up tomorrow coz I'm doing 'work experience' at The Throttle Stop in Berowra, and if it ain't busy, I'm going up the OR! Well when I finish scrubbing shitters that is!

Cheers mate, will let u know how it goes and when I'll be up the OR!

ps Can't get MAMBA in NSW, 4 bikes it's still only 3 letters, 2 numbers, or 2 letters, 2 numbers... u can do a search at www.rta.com.au to see if plates are available... SVN-11 wasn't about 9 months ago, but 3 months ago it was! Even when I move to Tassie I ain't giving it back! I'll say I 'lost' it!

24-01-2005, 04:48 PM
There you go!? i went to ku-ringhia high & grew up on the north shore! lived in turra & wahroonga. We hated the "southies" & regularly stole thier women! HE HE!
I suspect they talk about me to this day,you see,i have calmed down sinse then.
Mate i don`t want a new plate? unless i sell mine,(should be worth about 20 large)
then i`d be lookin for EVL 01

J7-11
24-01-2005, 05:05 PM
Ahh cool...

Looked for EVL-01 but it's taken, so is EVL-11!!! MAD-justaboutanything is taken too!

Hey mate! just had a good look @ ur 7\11. Looks pretty fat!. Trying to get mine engineered at the moment to make it a 7/11 and legal for rego. Engineer wants manufacturer's details on master cylinder - because have fitted 6 piston callipers off GSXR 1100 - master cylinder on my '90 model GSXR 750 is 5/8th's and he wants to know if the 1100 '95 model is the same as the 750 '90 model - He wants details from w'shop manuals as proof for engineering. Do you know of anyone that can help me or any handy web sites that this info may be on? I see u have 6 piston callipers on ur's. Your help is much appreciated!!

13-02-2005, 04:24 PM
K7/11 wot town or city are residing at the moment & is the bike currently rego`d? also, who is the gingerbeer that u r dealing with ????

J7-11
14-02-2005, 08:21 AM
Thanks mate! Still a little bit to go yet b4 I'm 'happy' but at least it's on the road!

Mate, what a fuckwit engineer you are dealing with, completely anal any typically only concerned with the theoretical side of things, not the real world practical side! Why doesn't he just give the fucker a squeeze! Does it actuate the brakes sufficiently? I would say 1/2 of the lever travel before hard would be about good... yes? Then pass! Exactly the reason why I'm not an engineer! I started my degree but hated it because it was all sitting in a classroom or lecture hall listening to some guy regurgitate what some guy regurgitated to him, they'd give you problems to work out, and tell you to ignore what I thought to be important parameters eg Working out what speed a car needs to go to get air off a bridge with a certain radius, I asked 'What about wind resistance, downforce/lift, suspension travel, weight distribution, centrifugal force from reciprocating components etc etc...' Maybe I was just being a little too pedantic... Anyway back to the subject on hand!

You're in luck mate, I was about to say you've got Buckley's (Jeff or Tim, doesn't matter!) chance of finding that out with hard proof, but then I checked a shop manual for 89-92 1100s I donwloaded from oldskool and it had the info in it, it said 14mm (which isn't 5/8). So now I'm downloading the 93-98 1100 one for you... be a little patient, it's 61mb! It can be found at www.oldskoolsuzuki.info -> 7/11 section -> FastCats Technical Suzuki Library if you've got broadband... if you haven't I'll print the offending pages off and forward them to you asap (or send them to u electronically 4 u to print out). That is if it's 14mm of course!

Just out of interest, how does the lever feel to you? My OEM one with the 6-pots wasn't that crash hot, but picked up an unknown 5/8 Nissin from the wreckers (was gold with a 10mm mirror mount) and this worked really really well! Then again maybe I just bled the lines a bit better this time...!

As mundy asked, whereabouts are you? If you're in NSW get your ass down to Sydney and one of us should be able to help u get the bike rego'ed without need for an Engineers Certificate! Let u know how the workshop maunual goes...

J7-11
14-02-2005, 09:28 AM
OK mate got the info for you and you're in luck. The manual says Master Cylinder Bore Front : 15.870 - 15.914 which is right either side of 5/8"... 5/8 in mm = 5/8 x 25.4 = 15.875mm so it's all good.

ok I got bored... here's a .bmp of the page, it came out a bit shitty but can make it better... this should be sufficient for the fuckwit! Let me know if it's not!

Good call J7-11.This got me think`n (no sarcasm required Ash or Tony)YES you do need a "BLUIE" for an adjustment.last night could not remember. As far as "gingerbeers" go "j" that word pedantic u used, later in life changes to PETULANT! my old man wanted me to be a mechanical gingerbeer but id` rather run round the mulberry bush with girls than professors.
should have listened

15-02-2005, 09:17 PM
THATS JUST TRIC BROTHER. JESUS BUILT MY SUZUKI, I RECKON SATAN IS BUILDIN YOURS.:D EVIL LOOKIN SHIT TIGER. KEEPIN UP THE HIGH STANDARD OF ENGINEERING THAT OUR FOREFATHERS HAVE SET US.
