Nice one mate. Welcome aboard. Deano has a watercooled GSXR with R1 tail piece the same: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1746. The main difference is he transplanted an 1100 engine into his 750. You guys have both got the right idea. Good stuff.

Welcome FallenHeaven, nice bike.

looks good mate welcome.

only thing i would change after the insertion of an 1100 donk would be to shorten the seat unit by about 40mm (just bring it in a little closer to the tank) as it sticks out to far past the rear wheel.

The bike is'nt as wrecked as it looked at the time of the accident!
Th fatbar, the risers, the yokes, the USDs are all O.K. but with some scratches!

The tail is not that good, the tail unit, the undertray and the "clear alternatives" tail light are completely wrecked...
Fortunatly the subframe is O.K.!
And,for the end,the rearsets are fucked too!
:D

After the accident,i did some thinking and i desided that i would finsh this project once and for all.
So i started...
First on the list was a set of vortex adjustable rearsets...

I've been studying the top photo, and I think you should jack the rear suspension up a bit, itlooks as if you have too much rake on the front end.
Personally[and its ONLY an opinion:)]I think the top rail of the frame should be closer to horizontal than it presently is.
Then, when you rebuild the arse end SHORTER.... it will still be higher than the tank by a 'smidge' [technical description, 'a bit']
But then you could always tell me to....[insert cuss here]:D
I like the rearsets, might get something like those on the ZX750 turbo project that I'll get to someday, when I get my garage back from the pile of construction shit that is bathroom renovations.....

FallenHeaven
26-08-2006, 10:30 PM
Benz,i think you are right about the top rail,i was thinking about droping the yokes a couple of cm,what do you think??
In the other hand... you could always [insert cuss here]

Well...there's been some progres to my project,

The top and bottom yokes and the risers have been electrostaticaly painted.

Hey FallenHeaven,
How're they hangin:D
Mate, far be it for me to tell you how to streetfighter your bike, you've done a great job already.:)
IF[and I do mean IF] that bike was mine, I'd get me some new suspension links to lift the rear a coupla inches.
The powdercoated triples look great;)

Thanks Benz... but at the moment i have more inportant concerns...
My carbs aren't working well(i've adjusted them 5 times,i've even tried dynoadjust the fucking thing ) and the rear brake is scary strong after the new master cylinder to fit the vortex rearsets

what carbs are you running and what isn't working with them

FallenHeaven
20-09-2006, 12:20 AM
I'm running stock micunis,i think they are 38mm but i'm not sure...!They are jeted by my mechanic(i don't now what jet he used,i'll ask and tell you)

1)The first problem is that at the low-mid rpm section the motor doesn't rev or opperate well
2)The second problem is that at the idle rpm the motor turns off if i don't rev it a bit

I'm thinking big jets is the cause of the fisrt problem
Any other opinions????????

stevo
20-09-2006, 07:50 PM
what aircleaner is in it????

I've come across similar probs with 'em before.....

Also if someone has enlarged the air bleed holes in the CV vacuum slides it can cause it to rise too quickly and give a lean surge or flat spot thru midrange....

Adjust ya idle up a bit higher....

Ahhhhh just realised it's had an accident...... I'd be lookin for an intake leak .... the carb bank may have been knocked off in the accident and it may have a BIG intake leak ... probably hard to see..

Remove the carbs and put some rubber grease on the boots and put 'em back in...

f that don't fix it we'll look at some other things

FallenHeaven
29-09-2006, 08:43 AM
Thanks for your reply stevo!!!
I talked to my mechanic about the carbs, and that there may be a leak and he said that he will check it!He said he will look at it on Monday... so ... i'll just wait!!

I almost forgot... Tomorrow i'm getting my bike out of the painters...!
I'll post some pics...

Wow Peter! That looks bloody great mate. I'm sure Deano will be interested in this one. He has virtually the same bike and is just working out what to do with the exhaust. That looks like the answer. Check his bike mate and see how he did his tail unit to tidy it up: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3025&SearchTerms=tail

Just out of curiosity mate, how did you attach them and were they solid and secure. It's quite original for a GSXR and looks pretty cool. Saying that I personally prefer your bike without them.

to be honest with you this wasn't my idea,i had spotted a fightered R1 with those side panels on.
They were attached with small brackets,i think if you look close you can see them, ofcourse the image quality doesn't help... :D
they were pretty solid... however I couldn't agree more with you, this is exactly what i thought when i saw them on my bike!
It looks Original, but not as pretty as without them!

However,in general,i really like the idea of side panels
so.... i am on a new side panel project...!

You might want to photoshop the green engine, one of the blokes on here might do it for you if you haven't got it. Green is one of those colours you can have too much of IMHO. Looks the bollox at the mo so it would be a shame to fuck it, be better to check what it would look like first....
