Ok , now that brings me up to my current stage I have removed the clip ons , cleand up the lume and remounted the horn inbehind the radiator etc , etc , But do you guys think that the mounts on the bars are to close together to be safe ? as the problem I have if they are to close then is I will need to go and buy new risers( not that big a deal ):D as the bars hit the forks if I move them forward or if I just move them out then they wont be bedded on the top triple completely , but I really like the look of these , so Im hoping that they are ok

HueyonaBlade
14-03-2007, 09:41 PM
Nah paint is out , Im hoping for a pretty plan all black gloss with a pin stripe , black frame and motor (one day )but in the short term Im going undercoat grey on the tank, front and rear, actually catch, I picked up an 04 rear arse end for it of ebay aswell so thats the focus after the fibre glass goes around the headlight, do you still have your original exhaust that you are willing to part with?

zx12argh
14-03-2007, 10:21 PM
For your risers. Not sure, its probably okay... Depends on the thickness of the triple clamp. To be sure just get (or DIY) someone to weld in a plate underneath then there will be no hassles.

Damo did you have much trouble with trying to get the exhaust past the shock ?as Im using an 04 CBR 1000 Sub frame and stock exhaust, Do you have any pics of the exhaust you built ?

These are the only photos i can find i know ive got more but
ill have to try find them.

The pipe i used was 2 1/4" it just fits had to be lined up perfectly
to clear the shock and arm.And when we pulled the old arm out it was just touching the arm.

If i was going the do it again id deffinatly use 2" diameter pipe because it would be heaps easier to line up and you would also have heaps more clearance around it so if it did move a little from the heat as it will its less likly to tag the arm or shock.

I also put in a heat shield between the shock and pipe just as a precaution but had absolutly no dramas with the heat on the shock and ive even read i think it was on another site that you dont have to run a heat sheild at all because the heat isnt a problem;).

Ive still got my old under seat pipe if you want one[?]

Can these be changed from Miles into Kms ? is it a simple thing and secondly will hooking it up be a huge drama to my old Blade, I am guessing that I will also have to buy a wiring loome for it aswell and cut and shut it into my loome[?]

HueyonaBlade
02-04-2007, 06:13 PM
Nah, the new sub is to narrow for that I finished the trial brackets today and went around to see a mate of mine who is a machinest so he seems to think that he should be able to come up with something from what I have given him as a model, so fingers crossed.
Does anyone know of a site/place where I can get a wiring diagram for the Blade and also one for a 2000 model R6

Nice work Huey. My personal opinion?: With the visual weight distribution of the tail, headlight unit and under engine exhaust I reckon a belly pan would finish that thing off perfectly. It would bring the weight into line and look really tough - euro stylee.

Mate looks great - love your paint work, the panels all tie very nicely together. But just so we aren't all giving you a collective bj [:p] how about some constructive critcism ;)
I'd change your chain guard for something laser cut and shiny or least something not so agricultural. I've never been a fan of checker plate myself - looks a bit too back yard - how about some body coloured fiberglass panels in there? Ditch the rear sets unless you've actually got a pillion on the back - Thats enough out of me. Feel free to tell me to shut the fuck up and just enjoy your bike for a bit ;)

Yeah Rod picked it up on Monday about lunch , Cost a cool $328 and was promptly informed that I will still have a court appearance ,Im kinda picking my streets atm for monos , cook has imposed her own consequenses if it gets impounded again ,and it involves a For Sale sign cause I have all ready had the value of one bike completely lost through no insurance and a theft so another would be catastrofic [^]
