28-02-2007, 04:14 PM
yeah it does look like another inch or so added to your wheelbase:)

Gix11
28-02-2007, 04:20 PM
Admittedly the angles are different but look at the 2nd photo and check where the exhaust stops and then check the last photo. It's definitely longer now, although the blade was a very short wheelbase as I remember.

FIGHTERMC
01-03-2007, 03:16 AM
YA i think the wheelbase is about 1.5 inches longer
i also turned the triangle linkage on the shock around
which makes it higher.

which i'm going to cut down and use instead of the one in the pic
but it will look more or less the same.

shift1313
02-03-2007, 08:14 AM
i would be very careful with that rim/tire combo. if you are running a 7" wide rim be sure your tire can handle it. Most tires are designed for one rim size and stretching them out will change your handling horribly. the profile is super important

damo1
02-03-2007, 08:33 AM
The pipes awesomw very similar to what im doing have you seen my plan book of ideas?

Im putting on a 190 michy pilot to start im hopping it doesnt flatern out to much if it does
im going for a 200 im trying to keep the handling aswell as go for the looks.

FIGHTERMC
02-03-2007, 08:44 AM
Damo1 i'd say you are going to have a little trouble fitting a 190
on to it mate,i'm running a 200 on the rim at the mo and it was{is,cos its not fitted right yet}
a bitch to fit so i'm going to see can i get a couple of 210's from germany
{can't get them here}and it will fit alot easier.
shift1313 i was thinking that it would be the way you say thats why i'm going
to run the 210's,if it not right it's not going to be driven, thanks for that mate

That looks bloody great Frank. The pipe is pretty mad which works well and it also visually brings the wheel forward again to close up the extra length you gained. Nice work. I like it a lot. I'm looking for a new tail end at the moment but it seems as though the R6 has been used enough already. Best look for something else.

FIGHTERMC

next is to see what color i'm going to paint it
not sure what to go for was going to paint it black

i think blue and silver would suit your bike just right, maybe a little bit of yellow on there too.

as far as the tire goes. 170-180 usually are made for a 5.5" rim, 180-190 for a 6" rim. I think the new zx12s run 200section tire on the rear. so id say your 210 will probably work out just right for the 7" rim, if you can get a little wider tire id say it would hand better because you would have a higher profile, but this is getting into odd hard to find tires and i imagine you dont want that. 210 is already tough enough to find:).

good luck with it.

as far as the exhaust goes, do you have enough room to stick it under the bike? maybe make your own housing or do a half circle housing tucked under the motor. maybe dual outlets, one to run to each side of the tire? i think that would look cool.

i think the muffler looks alright now, but could be better:)

FIGHTERMC
03-03-2007, 05:42 AM
Thanks shift for all the feedback mate,i'll go with the exhaust
thats on it for now and in time i'm going to buy aftermarket
system which will be easier to put a pipe under the engine
the stock one is shitty enough to work with as its all weld up.
was thing of blue put i'd say i'll go with the red,not going spending
big money anymore on spray jobs cos i think its a waste

shift1313
03-03-2007, 08:22 AM
blue and red rattle can cost the same:). ive only got like $10usd in my paint so far, and ive repainted the tank twice, three tone:)

FIGHTERMC
03-03-2007, 09:09 AM
was going to try spraying them with cans but i painted a mudguard before
and i must say i'm shit a child would have done a better job.:)

03-03-2007, 09:26 AM
The tyre will go on Exbens got a 190 on his 17x7 rim on the tlr hes doing
and it looks fine if a bit flat but he recons that the tyre hes using is
more for drag racing because it is flater when fitted but he seems to
think mine will fine

FIGHTERMC
03-03-2007, 09:29 AM
good stuff,i'll be trying the 200 if i can't get my hands
on a 210,did exben say it was hard to fit the tyre on the rim.

EXBEN
03-03-2007, 10:37 AM
Yes it's a prick. It's because the "ramp where the tyre has to go over to seat the bead is steeper on a car rim ( generally).
My tecnique for seating beads that don't want to seat is...
I get a 1 metre square piece of 19mm ply wood & drill a 20mm hole in it to line up with the valve hole when the tyre is centered underneath. Lube the bead up good & proper, Then using my workshop air blower nozzle I stand on top of the wood, clench my butt cheeks & close my eyes & pump the tyre as fast as possible & hope for the best.:D I've had up to 120psi in a tyre before it beaded.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS METHOD TO ANY ONE BECAUSE IT'S DANGEROUS!!
Im just letting you know how I do it.

EXBEN
03-03-2007, 10:41 AM
Actually the tyre on the TL seated quite easily because the "ramp" was quite shallow, so it depends on the wheel.

EXBEN
03-03-2007, 10:45 AM
Oh & it also depends on the Tyre, Kevlar belted tyres generally seat easier than steel belted ones, well thats what I've found anyway;)

HueyonaBlade
03-03-2007, 08:42 PM
Thats why your rear tyre set up looks superlative $$$$$$$$ Kevlar

Ah fighter can you do me a favour and take a shot of the calipure from both sides with the wheel removed?

Im having trouble sorting out the rear calipure on my bike im not sure what its off and would be interested in having a look at yours and also whats it off is it a 750 or 800 it looks like a 96/97 750 with the calipure on top like that is that right.

My calipure braket hangs under the hub but i think the calipure that was supplied with the arm is supposed to be on top.
