Hi Everyone

I am after a set of forks and triple clamps for the GSXR 1100. The 41mm one's with antidive (usually has a wire connected to the antidive). Must be the 1100 . NOT the 750

Any help would be appreciated

Hi there
These look like the 43mm forks
Would you mind checking for me?
If they are the 41mm I would be interested

Forks are 43mm on my 1990. You are after the earlier ones off a slabbie, yeah? Like these?

Ah yeah would it matter being a complete swap if they are 43 or 41mm.

Unfortunately YES
If you want to build a Period 5 Race bike the maximum you can have is 41 mm

Hey Andrew, check the eligibility rules for P5 carefully, if I remember correctly, it says you can't use the GSXR jobbies unless you remove the antidive casting from the fork legs (as well as the antidive unit itself obviously) which means you'd hafta turn or grind the mounts off & weld the holes - which would distort the fork leg from the heat.
The rules say something like - 41mm max diameter, single horizontal pinchbolt, no external adjustability, forks originally fitted with antidive must have all antidive assembly & mounting holes/castings removed.

Hi TurboKat
Yes you are right here
I have a friend who has supplied me with a set of blanking plates to blank off the AntiDive units
From my understanding this is sufficient for scrutineers at Period 5 level

I was told that blanking plates were't acceptable, the whole lot had to be milled/turned off the slider.
Having said that, I've seen all sorts of fork cheating on P5 bikes, ZX6 cartridge forks with one of the pinchbolts welded up & caps over the fork tops to hide the preload & damping adjusters, Gix forks with the antidive units still attached etc & the scrutineers seem to let them race so who knows?
The old PCRA forum used to be a good place to get tech & eligibility info but last time I checked it had closed down.
